4 DAY IN-SERVICE TRAINING FOR TEACHERS

IN DIGITIZATION
( February 7- 10, 2023 )

The session started on the morning session of February 7, 2023, with the inspirational
message of PSDS- West Butuan District II Lani O. Garguena. Then, the division monitoring
personnel Sir Dave A. Carmelo gave technical assistance to the participants on what to attach
for the RMPS Portfolio to have an outstanding rate. Moreover, Ma’am Yolly Apilada shared
updates on giving step increments due to meritorious performance using the Results-based
Performance Management System (RPMS) based on the 2019 DepEd Guidelines on the Grant
of Step Increments. The participants showed interest especially when Ma’am Yolly
discussed the ERF and Master teacher promotion on what needed to be prepared.

The Track head Sir Jondie Mark Autentico was one of the speakers on the second
day. He discussed the following: Code ethics, Classroom Management, DepEd Order
No.42 s. 2018 ( The Use of DLL), Performance Planning and Commitment, and also the
SBM. In order for the teachers to be updated on the current issues, trends, and
development based on DepEd Orders and Memoranda. Teachers need to go with the flow
of current trends in education since they determine what is currently accepted to be the
best way to teach students. Nonetheless, some trends in education may also change
quickly, just as some fashion trends may be absurd transitory fads.

In the afternoon Ms. Mylen T. Dela Cruz, the English and Reading Coordinator of the
school discussed the topic “ Upskilling on different reading interventions” to enhance the
teachers’ knowledge in developing critical, creative, and higher-order thinking skills in reading.
For Earthquake Preparedness, Mrs. Jovilyn B. Ganancial, the Master Teacher-I took part as a
speaker to strengthen disaster preparedness and effective responses in times of earthquake. She
discussed the risk factors of earthquake preparedness including planning for an earthquake
before it occurs, equipping teachers with information and emergency supply kits, training, and
implementing preparedness plans. Then, the last speaker in the afternoon of the second-day
session was Mrs. Eunice Faith B. Llagas she tackled “ Establishing Mental Health in the
Workplace” to elevate teachers’ competence among teachers about mental health awareness.

Ms. Josephine M. Gabor shared her knowledge about “ Pagtuturo ng Tastas: Tungo sa
malayang Pagbasa”. Everybody was listening to her topic because she called someone to answer
some questions based on her topic. Then, last but not least speaker of the session was Sir Jondie
Mark Autentico about “ Monitoring and evaluation of learning programs and achievement”

I am very thankful for the 4-Day inset training and hope that everything I’ve learned must be put
into practice. I have learned so much from the training and workshops that contributed a lot to
my success and growth as an educator. The purpose of this training was not just to comply but for teacher
development and school improvement for the sake of our learners’ learning. I believed that a valuable
resource that all teachers have for each other, without collaboration our growth is limited to
our own perspective. I remembered the famous line of Benjamin Franklin “Tell me and I forget.
Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn”.
THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS!!!
