Obesity is a growing problem in our society.

The causes of obesity are complex and varied, and it's

important to understand them all.

First, we need to look at the physical causes of obesity. There are many factors that contribute to weight
gain in both animals and humans. These include genetics, diet, exercise, sleep habits, stress levels, and
other environmental factors such as the availability of food or access to exercise facilities.

Second, we need to look at the mental causes of obesity. We know that there are certain personality
traits that make some people more prone to overeating than others—and these may not be something
we can change so much as something we can manage through better self-control skills.

Finally, we need to look at social causes of obesity. Obesity disproportionately affects people who are
socially marginalized or discriminated against because of their weight or appearance—and this lack of
acceptance can lead some people down a path towards disordered eating behaviors that might end up
causing them serious health problems down the line (like type 2 diabetes).

So what can we do about this growing epidemic? Well first off: exercise! Studies show that regular
physical activity decreases rates of obesity by reducing stress levels and increasing feelings of self-
efficacy
