IF CLAUSE TYPE 1

- Real situation
- Formula: If + Subject + Verb 1, Subject + will/ will not + Verb 1/Be
Example: If she comes to my house, I will clean my house.
- Formula: If + Subject + to be (is,am,are) + complement, Subject + will/ will not + Verb
1/Be
Example: If we are together, we will finish it faster

IF CLAUSE TYPE II
- unreal situation in the present
- Formula : If + Subject + Verb 2, Subject + would/ would not + verb 1
Example: If I listened to my mom, I would not get problem
- Formula: If + Subject + were, Subject + would/ would not + verb 1
Example: If I were you, I would not go to Bali.

IF CLAUS TYPE III


- unreal situation in the past
- Formula: If + Subject + had + verb 3, Subject + would/ would not + have + Verb 3
Example: If she had come earlier, she would have missed the train
- Formula: If + subject + had + been + complement , subject would / would not + have +
been + complement
Example: If I had been more polite to the teacher, I would not have been sad.
