CRONBACH’S ALPHA ON-SCALE RELIABILITY

The instrument has undergone a reliability test using Cronbach Alpha which is a measure

of internal consistency that is how closely related a set is as a group.

Category Cronbach Alpha Internal Consistency

Overall 0.9 Excellent
Physical Motivation 0.7 Acceptable
Cultural Motivation 0.8 Good
Impersonal Motivation 0.8 Good
Status and Prestige Motivation 0.8 Good
Legend: ≥ 0.9 (Excellent)
≥ 0. 8 (Good)
≥ 0.7 (Acceptable)
≥ 0 6 (Questionable)
≥ 0.5 (Poor)
≤ 0.5 (Unacceptable)

The table above presents the reliability test for the Level of Motivation using Cronbach’s

Alpha. An overall alpha of 0.9 was computed indicating Excellent Internal Consistency which

means that the 34-item survey is reliable. Further analysis shows that Cronbach’s Alpha will also

be 0.9 if an item is removed. It implies that no item should be removed from the survey.

In testing the Physical Motivation category, the computed Cronbach alpha gives 0.7 which

indicates acceptable. For the Cultural Motivation category, the computed Cronbach’s alpha is 0.8

which is good. For the Impersonal Motivation, Cronbach alpha computed was 0.8 indicating a

Good Internal Consistency. Lastly, for the Status and Prestige category, the computed

Cronbach’s alpha is 0.8 which also implies a Good Internal Consistency

Moreover, there is no need to remove or delete statements in every category since all give

good to acceptable internal consistency. It is recommended that the researchers carry out the

survey's full deployment because the total survey indicates excellent internal consistency.
