Are you looking for a good-rated and affordable university? If you’re interested in
either science, astrology, or art, the University of California, Santa Cruz, near San Jose
is a great college to attend for the start of anyone's future. Being a student at UCSC can
help guide research and pedagogy with knowledge-based assistance with camera
operations, video production, editing, and post-production practices and help design
projects with these methods in mind. There are many majors or academic programs that
will interest you to want to spend more time learning about. Although getting into UCSC
is not as simple as you think, there are many requirements.

Applying for UCSC will cost $70-$80 depending on whether you are an
international student or not. Not only that but, the cost of living expenses to live on
campus is around $17k however, any other living cost would be around $5k. There are
many different housing options. The residence halls (the dorms), include both shared
and private rooms. They typically assign 15 to 50 students per floor and have common
bathrooms. Rooms are furnished and have window coverings. Each resident is provided
an extra-long twin bed, a desk, a chair, and storage space such as a wardrobe or closet.
Being a responsible student, you will need to bring your own bedding, lamp, clock, and
other personal items essential to your daily life.

Not being accepted into UCSC doesn’t mean you're not a worthy student to
attend their school, it means you did not reach their requirements and to be able to
reach those requirements, you need to know what they are first. Being in highschool,
you will need at least a 3.5 GPA to apply, but to be accepted you would need around 3.7
to 4.1 GPA. Staff at UCSC will also be checking test scores and other scores on
academic lessons. An ACT Composite score needs to be 24-30, ACT english language
arts would have to be 25-32, SAT evidence based reading and writing scores need to be
590-690, SAT mathematics have to be 610-760, and SAT essays require to have a score
from 14 to 17. Personal statements many times are also required while applying. These
personal statements are letters of intent as a part of the application. The purpose is to
persuade the admissions committee that you are an applicant who should be selected.
Knowing these requirements, it would be a great decision to start trying the hardest you
can to achieve these scores and being able to get accepted into The University of Santa
Cruz.

What's offered at UCSC? Being a student at UCSC will give you many options of
majors, academic programs, PhD programs, sports, and financial aid. UCSC does offer
financial aid which looks like gift and self-help aid. 63.0% students receive this offer
during their first year at UCSC. Majors and academic programs can expand from math
to music. Some other options are biology, chemistry, art, language studies, feminist
studies, etc. UCSC also offers PhD programs, these programs are anthropology,
astronomy, bioinformatics, biology, chemistry, computer engineering, etc. Not only are
academic programs offered, so are active programs (sports). Some of these options
would be basketball, soccer, swimming, tennis, volleyball, cross country, golf, etc. If any
of these programs interest you, applying to UCSC is a good choice for you.

Like any other school, there are graduation and admission rates. Admission rate
tells us what percentage of students get in, a college's retention rate tells us what
percentage stays in school and the graduation rate tells us what percentage finishes
their degree. UCSC’s admission rate is 64.7% A college's retention rate tells us the
percentage of students who stay in school, UCSC’s is 89% and lastly the graduation
rate tells us the percentage of students who actually graduate that college, for UCSC,
their graduation rate would be 74.3%.

Being a student UCSC not only allows you to be a part of their academic
programs but also being a part of their community. Joining this university means you're
joining a new community and being able to participate in activities where other people
can join in on. This isn’t only an opportunity to start a great future for yourself but to
meet new people and start new relationships. UCSC’s mascot, the banana slug
represents the hearts and minds of the students and how they perceive UCSC as a
unique institution with other individuals who also did their best to get into the same
community as you.
