Research Title 1: The Level of Effectiveness of Collaborative Learning on Physical


Education among BPED Students of CHMSU

Rationale:
Collaboration is a 21st century skill which comprises a variety of approaches in education
that is mainly described as an exchange of ideas and sharing of knowledge that can mediate
student learning and enhance critical thinking as they work through in different collaborative
learning environment, making its impact consistently positive.
Existing studies outline the benefits, advantages and the essential elements of collaborative
learning which play a vital role in the development of students’ socialization skills. The key
aim of this study is to identify the level of effectiveness of collaborative learning on physical
education.

Statement of the Problem:


This research study attempts to identify the level of effectiveness of collaborative
learning on Physical Education among Bachelor of Physical Education (BPED) students of
Carlos Hilado Memorial State University. This study seeks to find answers to the following
specific questions:

1. What is the demographic profile of the BPED students of CHMSU in terms of age,
gender, and year level?
2. What are the different collaborative learning approaches used by the students?
3. What is the most commonly collaborative learning approach practiced by the
students?
4. Is there a significant difference

Research Title 2: Socio-Economic Status Affecting the Non-cognitive Factors of Student-


athletes of CHMSU
Rationale:
Socioeconomic status or SES is defined as a measure of one’s combined economic and
social status. It also focuses on the three common measures of socioeconomic status;
education, income and occupation. Carlos Hilado Memorial State University is an institution
with free access to education and all students have the privilege to avail it whether they
belong to low, middle, or high status in life. Socioeconomic status plays a great impact
affecting students’ academics. Several studies were conducted only discussed the relationship
between students’ socioeconomic status and their academic performance in school. This
study aims to link the socioeconomic status to non-cognitive factors of student-athletes. As

Statement of the Problem:


This research study attempts to identify whether non-cognitive factors of the student-
athletes of CHMSU are contingent or moderated by their socioeconomic status. Specifically,
this study seeks to find answers on the following:
1. What is the demographic profile of the student-athletes in terms of age, gender
and year level?
2. What is the socioeconomic status of the student-athletes in terms of family
income and parental education?
3. What measure of socioeconomic status that greatly affects the noncognitive
factors of the student-athletes?
4. Is there a significant difference in the socioeconomic status to the noncognitive
factors of students?

Research Title 3: The Relationship between Perceived Personal Barriers to Physical


Activity in relation to the Participation in Physical Education Class of (specify students) of
CHMSU

Rationale:
Physical activity is proven to improve one’s quality of life and reduce the risk of
developing a variety of health problems. In the school setting, students who are physically
active tend to attain better grades, school attendance, cognitive performance (e.g., memory),
and classroom behaviors (e.g., on-task behavior). However, with many constraints
