The Subtropical climate has got three subtypes:
a. deserts and semi-deserts - located in the Western part of Texas, South-West USA (the interior);
b. wet subtropical/Trade- wind coasts – located in south eastern USA
c. mediterranean – located in California
Characteristics: high day-time (50° C) and low night-time (0° C) temperatures caused by the absence of clouds,
little rain and a high rate of evaporation in the desert subtype; warm temperatures, heavy rainfall and hurricanes
in the wet subtropical subtype and hot, dry summers and warm, wet winters in the mediterranean subtype.
