How the Development of Technology Affects Humans

It is very evident that human beings are witnessing radical changes in almost all aspects of their
livelihood. This can be attributed to the numerous developments brought about by technological
advancement, among other factors. So far, the mode of livelihood that humans currently
experience and interact with greatly differs from that of a few decades ago. This difference
ranges from how humans eat and dress to jobs and communication. Since the introduction of
technology, lives seem to have been made easier and almost everyone is directly or indirectly
affected by it. Consequently, this radical change can either cause an upgrade or degrade humans.

It is evident at rapid development of technology has brought both positive and negaitive effects.
One can argue that rapid development of technology has improved the standards of living across
the globe, generated more opportunities for education, communication, and entertainment.
However, some can argue that the rapid development of technology has caused significant
increase of depenance on technology, which consequently has resulted to addiction and mental
health issues, reduction of physical activities and face-to-face social interaction. Conversely, it
should be noted that degradation of humans should not solely blamed on the advancement of
technology as the sole issue. There are many factors such as political, economic, and social
system that also play a critical role. Evidently, degradation of humans cannot be attributed to
technology development only.

In conclusion, the statement, "the faster technology develops, the more humans are degraded"
should be considered not to be true. Although technology is associated with several drawback as
already discussed, the pros it presents to the society overaps them. The society should consider
utilise the advancement of technology in order to create a better livelihood and cause further
upgrade to all human aspects.
