Detailed lesson Plan in English Grade-IV

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson plan 80% of the pupils will be able to
Identify the Elements of a story
Analyze the story elements setting, character and plot
Write a short story using the story elements

D. Presentation
The teacher will post an example selection on
the board and will ask some questions.

Little Red Riding Hood has a basket of food to


give to her sick Grandma. She walks through the
woods towards her Grandma’s house.
She soon meets the wolf. The wolf ask little Red
Riding Hood where she is going. He then rushes
to her Grandma’s house. He locks Grandma in
the cupboard and pretends to be her. Little Red
Riding Hood finally arrives. She soon notices that
the wolf is pretending to be her Grandma.
Just as the wolf is about to eat little red riding
hood, the Woodcutter arrives and chases the
wolf away. Little Red Riding Hood, Grandma, and
the Woodcutter live happily ever after.

Mang Pedro went to the beach to catch fish. He


found out that his hat was missing so, he looked
for it before going fishing, because it’s too sunny
at the beach. He enjoyed fishing and caught a big
fish that day, in the afternoon, Mang Pedro went
back home and cooked the fish he caught.

Group 3 will Role play the story of The Boy Who


Cried Wolf

The boy was bored of watching the sheep. He


decided to pretend the wolf was attacking the
sheep. The townspeople came to help and found
out the boy was lying. The boy did this a couple
more times. The townspeople were upset. A wolf
really did approach the boy. The boy cried for
help, but no one came because they thought he
was lying again. The Wolf attacked the boy and
the sheep.

As a pupil, how can you show kindness towards


other people?

The Rabbit and the Turtle


Once upon a time there was a Rabbit and a Turtle.
They were good friends. They used to meet and play
every day. The Rabbit always boasted that he could
run faster than the Turtle.
So, they decided to have a race. They choose a
starting and finishing point. The rabbit ran really fast
and soon left the Turtle far behind. He thought that
Turtle is too slow and he can rest for a while.
So, he stopped under a tree and went to sleep.
Meanwhile Turtle kept walking the whole time and
reached the winning point. When the Rabbit woke
up, he saw that Turtle has already won the race.

V. Assignment
Read the short story entitled The Three Little
Pigs.
