Auto-Tune Evo 6.1.

0 RTAS OS X Notes

Thank you for purchasing or evaluating Auto-Tune Evo RTAS for Mac OS X.
While the Owner's Manual contains all the platform-independent information
you'll need to get the full benefit of Auto-Tune Evo (and we really encourage
you to read it), this file includes specific installation and use issues unique to
the RTAS OS X version.

INSTALLATION

The Auto-Tune Evo RTAS installer will automatically install the plug-in in the
correct location, and no reboot of the computer will be necessary.

AUTHORIZATION

Authorization is the process by which this software is allowed to run on your

computer. Detailed instructions covering the available authorization options will
be found in the the file “Authorization Read Me” which is included on the
installation CD ROM or with your software download.

NOTE: When initially installed, this software will run for ten days without
authorization.

So even if you can‘t authorize it right away you can still use your software in
the meantime. (During this period, click the “Continue” button whenever you
are presented with the Trial Period screen at launch.) But don’t procrastinate
too long. After those ten days are up, you will no longer be able to launch this
software until it’s authorized.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE

It is critical to note that Auto-Tune Evo will NOT open sessions created with
Auto-Tune 5 or earlier. The improvements made to the core technology are so
extensive that it just won't work. For that reason, we have configured Auto-
Tune Evo such that it and Auto-Tune 5 can be active in your DAW
simultaneously. Furthermore, your Auto-Tune Evo authorization includes a
linked authorization for Auto-Tune 5.
However, it’s also important to note that we will not be releasing future updates
to Auto-Tune 5, so it is inevitable that between computer OS advancements
and host updates, Auto-Tune 5 will eventually stop working.

If you have current saved sessions with instances of Auto-Tune 5 that you may
need to access into the indefinite future, we offer the following suggestions:

• If you are satisfied with the current Auto-Tune 5 settings, use whatever
method your host offers (bouncing, offline editing, etc.) to permanently render
the corrected tracks.

• If you believe you will need to keep editing into the future, remove the
instances of Auto-Tune 5 and replace them with instances of Auto-Tune Evo.

WHAT'S NEW IN VERSION 6.1.0

• Removed no-longer-necessary Authorization Wizard from the installer.

PLUG-IN USE

Auto-Tune Evo can be used as a real-time RTAS plug-in or from the AudioSuite
menu.

HIERARCHICAL MENUS

With Pro Tools's hierarchical plug-in menus, Auto-Tune Evo will be found in the
category "Pitch Shift."

GRAPHICAL MODE SYNC

In order to take advantage of Auto-Tune Evo's Graphical Mode Sync capability,

you must be using Pro Tools HD 7.2 or Pro Tools LE 7.3 or later.

OPTIONS DIALOG SAVED ITEMS

Due to the way Pro Tools captures some data, only the items in the lower
portion of the Options Dialog (inside the "box") are permanently saved as
defaults.
LOOPING WHEN USED AS AN INSERT

When Auto-Tune is used as a real-time insert in Graphical Mode, it is not able to

detect when a segment of audio has looped when using Options->Loop
Playback. Consequently, you should not enable Loop Playback. Specifically, when
correcting a segment, do not play the segment in Loop Playback mode. If
desired, stop playback at the end of the segment, relocate to the start of the
segment and play again. Note that Loop Playback is handled correctly in
AudioSuite mode.

MODIFIER KEYS

The following modifier keys are active in Auto-Tune Evo in Pro Tools:

Shift - Toggles Snap-To-Note state in Graphical Mode. Toggles Momentary state

in Automatic Mode.
Option - Allows free movement of correction curves in Graphical Mode
Delete - Deletes the most recent line segment when using the Line Tool
1 - 0 - Graphical Mode function selection (QWERTY keys only)

Pro Tools does not make the Command (Apple) key available to Auto-Tune, so
the various Command key combinations are not available.
