In 1994 the construction of the Palace of Fine Arts


was resumed in order to achieve economic and
social stability in the country

The Palace of Fine Arts houses, above all, two


architectural styles in vogue in the late nineteenth
and early twentieth centuries:

Art Nouveau
Art decó

Very remarkable is the main facade of the


building which is made of Carrara marble.
The cherubs and sculptures representing
music and inspiration.
The columns and balconies.
The spectacular dome.

From the beginning, the Palau


had a purpose. It was conceived
as a hall to glorify Catalan folk
music and demonstrate that its
composers were on a par with
the classical masters of Europe.

Main façade
On this façade there are large columns of
red brick and ceramic that form carpanel or
apainelados arches.

Outside Along
the roof lines and facades appear Moorish
touches combined with colorful mosaics and
stained glass.
