The ruins of belief.

I think that this statement creates a feeling of realization about how humans learn so
much over time that our old beliefs become outdated.
I also think that it is bizarre that these old beliefs are held onto by certain individuals
even though others know that it is wrong even though it was their best ideal at the time.
I also think that our modern religions are safe guarded from our modern version of the
truth by their innate ability to stay oblivious and ignorant to the real world because of
their ethnocentric attitude.
I think that this statement might also invoke a feeling of our comparative stupidity
because of how little we actually know, how much we still have to learn and how much
of our current “truths” are actually false.
It may also invoke a feeling of emptyness as some of our religions that we have relied
so heavily on in the past may be false.
This excerpt may create a feeling of pride because even though our current religions
may be not scientifically perfect we have the power to discover new ways to shape our
future, religions or not.

No mythology or religion that I know holds all of the answers. Most religions
are based on truths but are polluted and cloaked by the phylosophies and
imaginations of men.

To me this excerpt represents our knowledge and continuous learning about the world
but then as we learn our old thoughts are washed away as our understanding of the
world changes. This thought is represented by the section: “Most religions are based on
truths but they are clouded by the philosophies and imaginations of men”. The photo of
the glowing orb entangled in dark vines and branches is a representation of the excerpt.
The light itself represents the truths of religions and the vines and branches represent
the philosophies of men. The light still exists but it is entangled and constricted by the
surrounding undergrowth. The following picture of the puzzle represents us as we
create explanations for the world around us (these explanations are represented by the
bluish puzzle pieces). But, as we do so we block out other mindsets and sometimes the
truth as we invent ways to entirely comprehend our universe (the other mindsets and
the truth are represented by the glowing but unfinished section of the puzzle. In the third
picture of the crumbling buildings the crumbling buildings represent the religions of the
world and their current states. and how they are holding up against our modern society.
My final picture that of the lonely bench on the hillside represents that even though
religions may not all be true it would be difficult to live and come together. After all
religions were created to explain our world and bring groups of us together even though
they aren’t perfect by today’s standards, some of us would be totally lost without
