a) WHAT IS COMMUNICATION

The word ‘communicate’ is derived from the Latin word ‘communicare’ and the French Word
‘communis’, and both the words mean ‘to give to another’.
Communication is a process that involves sending and receiving messages through the verbal
and non-verbal methods. Communication is a two-way means of communicating information in
the form of thoughts, opinions, and ideas between two or more individuals with the purpose of
building an understanding.

b) Process Of Communication

1)Developing the Message.

2)Encoding the Message.
3)Selecting the Channel.
4)Message Transmission.
5)Decoding the Message.
6)Feedback.
7)Learning Effective Communication.

c) Channels Of Communication

1) VERBAL COMMUNICATION

Verbal communication occurs when we engage in speaking with others. It can be

face-to-face, over the telephone, via Skype or Zoom, etc. Some verbal engagements are
informal, such as chatting with a friend over coffee or in the office kitchen, while others
are more formal, such as a scheduled meeting.
2) NON-VERBAL COMMUNICATION

What we do while we speak often says more than the actual words. Non-verbal
communication includes facial expressions, posture, eye contact, hand movements, and
touch.

3) WRITTEN COMMUNICATION

Whether it is an email, a memo, a report, a Facebook post, a Tweet, a contract, etc. all
forms of written communication have the same goal to disseminate information in a clear
and concise manner.

4) LISTENING

Active listening, however, is perhaps one of the most important types of communication
because if we cannot listen to the person sitting across from us, we cannot effectively
engage with them.

5)VISUAL COMMUNICATION

Visual communication is the use of visual elements to convey ideas and information
which include but are not limited to signs, typography, drawing, graphic design,
illustration, industrial design, advertising, animation, and electronic resources.

d) THE COMMUNICATION MODE I PREFER :

I prefer nonverbal mode of communication over verbal or any other modes. The reason why I
keep it above others is that in this mode I'm able to use more types of sentences and
conversation skills by thinking more as I have more time to express my heart and brain.
In nonverbal communication I'm able to use vocabulary more than common communication . It
gives me independence to speak and speak my mind.over the last ten years i have researched
the best way to start a communication with anyone , especially with the opposite gender, and i
found that non verbal communication is the most efficient way to do so.
