Course: EEd 14- TEACHING ARTS IN THE ELEMENTARY GRADES

(Pls. answer as briefly as possible)

LEARNING TASK #1
1. Share your ART experiences in relation to the course EEd14.
First of all I love everything about art, there are different forms of art and I enjoy doing
some of them. I also aim to experience those that I’ve haven’t done yet like pottery,
crocheting, crafting mini houses, etch; My favorite form of art is dancing, where I can express
myself through my movements and talent. I would love to share it to the crowd especially to
my future students, for them to be confident about themselves through dancing and other
form art. It will help them loosen up, because art classes aim to cultivate interest as well as
skill in a variety of art styles. As an art teacher we are free to create our own classes, however
I will start at basic drawing, painting, and crafts.

2. How will this course EEd 14 help in achieving BU Vision?

For me whatever you do, can be called art. The word ugly, disgusting, different, and
other words that are related to them does not exist when doing/creating art, only uniqueness
and beauty. If you feed that knowledge into your students there could be changes. If only
they have enough knowledge about what art and its importance, there would be
development. Knowing art equates to knowing yourself and your worth, because you
yourself is an art, if you know your value, you gain confidence, if you have confidence, you
can do what you want, you can communicate and socialize well and lead better, and if you
fail you can do it again, because you know that you only need practice. You will not be afraid
in committing mistakes because you know yourself more and that you can do it because you
know what you want. That is what BU vision aims, change agents, leaders, social
transformation, and development. That is why teaching arts in elementary pupils is important
because it’s the beginning of their development. That is why art teachers should be skilled
in their field because a good art teacher makes you feel at ease and encourages you to
express yourself. Art teachers aspires to have pupils generate unique work in each lesson.
They want you to be able to think for yourself, make decisions, and create a work of art that
is uniquely yours and be confident about it.
