We chose Roy's adaption Model of Sister Callista Roy as our nursing theory in this

study. A study was carried out to see whether nursing students will react positively or
negatively to environmental changes. According to Roy's Adaptation Model, the
individual in the study is the student nurse, who is regarded as the adaptive system.
However, sleeping pattern imbalance limits our ability to adapt since it impacts both
our physiological and interdependent processes.

The theory is divided into three types of environmental stimuli that try to explain the
quality of nursing. These are focal stimuli, contextual stimuli, and residual stimuli.
Roy's Adaptation Model attempts to maximize adherence and life span. It analyzes the
patient in four separate modes to provide comprehensive care: physiologic, self-
concept, role function, and interdependence. It demonstrates how the Roy Adaptation
Model was used to care for student nurses, examining the physiologic mode, self-
concept mode, and role function mode to provide holistic care.
