ARFF VEHICLE SPECIFICATIONS
FRAME:
110,000 PSI (758450 KPA) yield strength carbon manganese steel channels with reinforcement,10-1/8" x 3-5/8"
x 5/16" (257 mm x 92 mm x 8 mm), 190" (4826 mm) wheelbase. Tow eyes front and rear.
BUMPER:
Channel type front bumper with closed ends and recessed headlights.
FUEL SYSTEM:
50 gallon (190 L) fuel tank with primary and secondary filters, mechanical fuel pump.
FRONT AXLE:
23,000 lb (10431 kg) capacity front drive and steering assembly with semi-elliptic 4" (102 mm) wide constant rate
springs, shock absorbers, energy absorbing devices, power steering and 20" (508 mm) diameter, two spoke
steering wheel.
REAR AXLE:
24,000 lb (10885 kg) capacity rear drive axle with semi elliptic 4" (102 mm) wide constant rate springs with
energy absorbing devices.
DIFFERENTIALS:
Driver controlled locking type in each axle with indicator light showing positive engagement.
BRAKES:
Full air system with 16 CFM (453 LPM) compressor, heated desiccant air dryer, drain valves at each tank, spring
parking and emergency brake on rear axle, drum type brakes at each wheel.
TIRES AND WHEELS:
Five (5) 24R21 wide base, radial ply tires mounted on 21" x 18" (533 mm x 457 mm) steel disc wheels. Spare tire
and wheel shipped loose with the vehicle.
ENGINE:
Rear mounted Detroit Diesel 8V92TA, 585 HP (436 kW) DDEC III with muffler, vertical exhaust stack and rain
cap. A 1500 sq in (9675 sq cm) radiator with fan and shroud, 50/50 ethylene glycol mixture and sight level
gauge.
Block heater with thermostat.
TRANSMISSION:
Allison HT-750DR five speed automatic transmission with torque converter, tube and shell water to oil cooling
system and hydraulic filter. Locking T-handle selector in cab, lighted for night operation.
POWER DIVIDER:
Modulating wet clutch between engine flywheel and transmission activated by a cab switch. Modulation
accomplished by accelerator pedal after engagement.
Pump drive actuated by cab switch controlling hydraulic engagement of multiple disc wet clutch. Manual
override for pump clutch.
TRANSFER CASE:
Heavy duty, selective drive transfer case, engaged by switch convenient to driver with indicator light showing
positive engagement.
CAB:
Two door aluminum extrusion reinforced cab with 2400 sq in (15480 sq cm) tinted windshield, sliding tinted door
windows, treadplate floor and roof.
Cab flexibly mounted to chassis with four insulated rubber cushioned mounts.
Cab equipment includes high capacity heater, self canceling turn signals, spring brake control, all wheel drive
control, three wet arm electric windshield wipers with two speeds, delay feature and one gallon (3.8 liter) washer,
test panel for warning systems.
SEATING:
Drivers seat is a mechanical adjustable SCBA type located left of center.
Passenger seat is fixed individual SCBA type located right of center.

MIRRORS:
6" x 16" (152 mm x 406 mm) rectangular mirrors with separate convex unit, attached to doors. Convex parabolic
mirror over windshield, left side.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:
Cab controls shall include: master electrical switch, starter button, shutdown switch, dash lights with rheostat and
compartment light switch.
Instrumentation includes: electronic tachometer with hourmeter, electronic speedometer with odometer, dual air
gauge with warning lights and alarm, oil pressure and water temperature gauges with warning lights and alarm,
voltmeter, fuel gauge, transmission temperature gauge, PTO oil pressure light with alarm, high beam indicator,
self-canceling turn signal, hazard switch, water and foam tank level lights.
Equipment includes: engine start and stop controls, directional lights, cab heater, lighted rocker type light switches
marked and back lighted, and fire system switches - guarded toggle type.
Wiring per SAE J-1128 with color coding and function imprint every 3” (76 mm).
Headlights, single faced, amber turn signals mounted front of cab.
Clearance and rear stop/tail/turn and back up lights.
FLIR: (FAA 150/5220-10B models only)
Forward Looking Infrared Device mounted on the upper forward section of the cab with a 5.6” monitor
mounted in the cab.
ALTERNATOR:
12-volt, 160 amp per SAE J-56 alternator with voltage regulator and dual belt drive.
BATTERIES:
Three (3) Group 31, 1000 CCA, 12-volt batteries, single 12-volt system mounted in a ventilated area, accessible
for checking. On-board charger with shore line connection.
BODY:
Welded aluminum center body with extrusion frame work attached to the chassis through a flexible three point
mounting system. Separate rear body section attached to the chassis through four rubber cushioned mounts. Tilt
hood for engine access.
Slip resistant walkway on top of tank.
Access to top from ground at rear walkway.
Removable panels and/or doors provided for access.
Bright aluminum diamond plate locking double panel compartment doors.

Large enclosed equipment compartments are supplied for reels, hose lines and ancillary fire fighting equipment.

PUMP:
Single stage centrifugal PT0 driven pump with bronze impeller and wear rings, self-adjusting mechanical seal
and corrosion resistant cast housing with a capacity to supply all crash mode outlets simultaneously.
PLUMBING:
Stainless steel and flexible high pressure hose plumbing throughout with clamp and seal type removable connec-
tions.
Left side: One (1) 2-1/2" (64 mm) gated female water tank fill/drain with plug and one (1)1-1/2" (38 mm) gated
male foam fill/drain connection with cap.
Two (2) 1-1/2" x 150' (38 mm x 45 m) preconnected 95 GPM (360 LPM) soft hose handlines and nozzles.
