Our society is solely built over our education system and how we excel in our lives and it

all starts off with primary education. Primary education consists of just the basics : math,

reading, writing, and social studies. Going into this field is very important to me because of my

path with the educational system and my growth as a person.

As stated before, I am going into the field of education because it is the building blocks to

our society. Everything in life consists of challenges and my education career started with a big

one, which was a language barrier. I started off my primary education only knowing and

understanding spanish. I feel like this is important because in the educational system we tend to

push off those who have trouble learning for this same reason. Entering with a language barrier

has forced me to take different routes in my learning ways. Time management, note taking,

active listening, and reading comprehension have been the skills I’ve picked up that will serve

me to teach. These are skills that are important that will help our future kids grow in the

education system. My field observation taught me things that I will incorporate such as class

engagement exercises and independent learning. Both are important because it teaches kids how

to be self dependent and how to be social with others.

When it comes to teaching, there isn’t a set instructions on how to teach. It all really depends

on how your class reacts on your approach to everything. In teaching I will try to incorporate

technology, discussions, and group work. Technology is such a huge part of our live right now

and it will only progress towards that in the future. It also opens up the world for our children

guiding them through a lot of our speaking topics. With technology they will be able to

communicate with each other and do research on topics that are being taught in class.

Discussions and group work will allow children to get along and work with each other. They

allow children to be open to new ideas that they probably didn’t think about. New perspectives

and point of views will be shared in group works which will allow them to either come to

agreements or disagreements.

I currently believe that the curriculum that the schools set for children should be better

than what it is. I believe when you should be teaching them things they are going to learn in their

real life. For obvious reasons you can not teach that to grades k-5 because they are much younger

and it will take longer for them to understand. Although for the much more higher grade levels I

believe they should learn that. If I ever choose to teach higher grades than I believe that should

be a part of the curriculum.

Some historical events that make me vary between schools and children are all of the

school shootings. That makes me so scared for the environment I am going into but also I hope

that by then the system will be much more different and more safe for everyone. Also there is

just so much things that happened to children that teachers are not aware of that makes me want

to do better as a teacher to be self aware. Especially listening to my students and hearing their

side of every story.

Some steps I will be taking that will help me get my teaching license are volunteering at

other schools. Just to get a feel about certain things or events that are held at schools. I definitely

do want to apply at a school to be support staff. It is just really hard to get into ccsd. It takes a

month for them to respond back. I currently do work with kids and I love it. It also gives a good

experience for when I go into the education field.

To conclude, This is my point of view on how I see things. I hope this gives you an

insight on how I think and who I want to be as a teacher.
