DVH and Dose Outcome Reporting

Prescription: 66.6Gy in 37 fractions to the prostate fossa.

PTV Goals:
 At least 95% PTV to receive 100% of the prescription dose
 0.03 cc of PTV to receive less than 115% prescription dose

1. Is the PTV receiving the desired coverage as listed above? How do you know? Be specific (1.5 points).
 Yes, the PTV is receiving the desired coverage. Shown on the DVH the 66.6 Gy dose line intersects the 95% volume line for the PTV
curve, which is shown in bright red.
2. Is the PTV receiving a maximum dose of less than 115%? How do you know? Be specific (1.5 Points).
 The PTV is receiving a max dose less than 115%. As can be seen on the table for the PTV_6660 the max dose is listed as 106.3%.
3. Using the DVH below, find the requested OAR values as listed in the table below and report the approximate outcome.

0.5 point each:

Organ at Risk (OAR) Desired Planning Objective Planning Objective Outcome Met or Not Met? (Y/N)
Rectum V40 Gy < 55% V40 Gy =~47% Y
Rectum V65 Gy <35% V65 Gy =~22% Y
Bladder V40 Gy < 70% V40 Gy =~32% Y
4. A
Bladder V65 Gy < 50% V65 Gy =20% Y
Left Femur V50 Gy <10% V50 Gy =0% Y
Right Femur V50 Gy < 10% V50 Gy =0% Y
prescription asks for the 20% of the total lung volume to receive no more than 20 Gy. Write this in ‘short’ form (0.5 point).
 Total Lung V20 Gy <20%

5. A prescription asks for the PTV to receiving the following: D99% > 95%. What does this mean? Write this out (0.5 point).
 The dose to 99% of the PTV needs to be greater than 95% of the prescription.

Using the DVH provided above, report the dose outcomes for the 3 red dots (in order of left to right) on the curve in ‘short form’(1 pt each)
1. V10 Gy <70%
2. V22 Gy <50%
3. V30 Gy <40%
