    How to make your own

    Festival Costumes PARENTAL


    SUPERVISION
    REQUIRED

    To make your own mask and capes you require the following:-
    PVC adhesive Some elastic
    Tracing paper Needle and cotton
    Pencil 2 pins
    Beads for eyes Small sharp scissors
    Different coloured felts
    1. The first thing is to trace
    out the vegetable pattern
    you wish to make.

    2. Pin the pattern to the coloured


    felt you wish to use and cut out.

    3. Sew a 50mm length of elastic to the


    small oval felt cut out. Double the elastic back
    on itself as shown to ensure it does not pull out.

    4. Sew the eye beads 6. Trace out the cape shape.


    in position.
    7. Pin the trace to your felt and cut out.
    8. Cut a small button hole on one side
    5. Cover work area with old newspaper to protect work surface. Using and sew a bead on the other.
    a little PVC adhesive, stick all the parts of the mask together and leave
    to dry out fully.
