+-IubLink

+-IubEdch [0..1]
+-NbapCommon [0..1]
+-NbapDedicated [0..1]
+-NodeSynch [1..1]

Models the manageable characteristics of an RBS that must be known to the RNC. One instance per RBS
controlled by the RNC should exist.

Furthermore, the IubLink MO Type acts as a container class for all MO Types related to Iub
communication with an RBS. This includes MO Types for NBAP communication and Node
Synchronization.

The Control Plane resources for the IubLink are configured for ATM by setting
controlPlaneTransportOption.atm to TRUE and creating NbapCommon and NbapDedicated MO instances
under the IubLink. These instances are used to tie the UniSaalTp resources to the Nbap protocols.
The Control Plane resources for the IubLink are configured for IP by setting
controlPlaneTransportOption.ipv4 to TRUE and setting sctpRef to a valid reference.
The User Plane resources for the IubLink are configured for ATM by setting
userPlaneTransportOption.atm to TRUE, and setting atmUserPlaneTermSubrackRef to a valid reference.
The User Plane resources for the IubLink are configured for IP by setting userPlaneTransportOption.ipv4
to TRUE, and setting userPlaneIpResourceRef to a valid reference.

Actions
string
rncModuleReallocate ( );
Triggers remodulling procedure on the IubLink.

Transaction required: Yes

Attributes
SupportedAdminStates
administrativeState = LOCKED
The administrative state of the Iub link.

Disturbances: Changing this attribute may affect ongoing traffic.

Subrack
atmUserPlaneTermSubrackRef
Reference to the subrack where the ATM user plane termination of the Iub
link is located, and from which the Iub link should preferably be
controlled. The Iub link control location should be selected to minimize
inter-subrack communication during traffic handling and thus reduce
overhead.
Note that the Iub link control may be located in another subrack than the
one configured in this attribute, if that subrack is full. The actual subrack
allocation of the Iub link control can be determined by looking at the
rncModuleRef attribute and then checking in which subrack that
RncModule is located.
The value of this attribute is only used in ATM transport and in RNC
product versions with an ATM switch core. However, setting this attribute
to any value (even the same value as before) or clearing the reference will
always trigger a reallocation of the Iub link control. If
rncModulePreferredRef is set, the remodulling procedure will use that
RncModule as the preferred module, regardless of the value of this
attribute. In that case, this attribute is only used if the preferred module
is not available.

Dependencies: This attribute should not be changed in the same

transaction as controlPlaneTransportOption.
If userPlaneTransportOption.atm==TRUE, this attribute must contain a
valid reference.
If userPlaneTransportOption.atm==FALSE, the value of this attribute is not
used.

Dependencies: Set to an empty string when remoteCpIpaddress2 is

changed, except when changing from one domain name to another.
TransportOptionDef
mandatory controlPlaneTransportOption
Transport option for the NBAP signaling bearers for this IubLink instance.
One and only one of the flags must be set to TRUE.

Dependencies: This attribute should not be changed in the same

transaction as atmUserPlaneTermSubrackRef.
This IubLink must be locked, and must have been locked
(administrativeState = LOCKED) in an earlier transaction, in order to
change the value of this attribute.
When setting controlPlaneTransportOption.ipv4=TRUE, at least one Sctp
MO must be configured for Iub. This Sctp will be reserved by the IubLink
(through the attribute sctpRef). Also, remoteCpIpAddress1 must be set to
a valid value. If remoteCpIpAddress2 is set to a valid value, that value
may also be used.
Takes effect: At unlock of IubLink

insensitive.
For a numeric IP address, the input format is four fields of digits,
separated by dots. Each field may consist of three digits. The value of
each field shall be in the range 0..255.
The value of remoteCpIpAddress1 should be unique within the RNC, since
it is used to contact the IP host on a single individual RBS.

Dependencies: If controlPlaneTransportOption.ipv4=TRUE, this attribute

rncModuleAllocWeight = 10 { 1..100 }
Load-balancing weight of an IubLink compared to other IubLinks on the
same RNC module. Changing this value to a non-default value affects the
remodulling procedure. A higher value means that the IubLink requires
more capacity. Thus, using the attribute with a higher value prevents
allocating several heavily-loaded IubLinks on the same Module Controller.

userPlaneGbrAdmBandwidthDl = 10000 { 1..10000 }
The average estimated downlink transmission bandwidth on this IubLink
that can be used by GBR RABs when the Iub GBR admission control
feature is active. The bandwith for IP transport includes UDP/IP/Ethernet
overhead; likewise, the bandwidth for ATM transport includes AAL2/ATM
overhead. This value is used by TN Connection Admission Control to
calculate the downlink bandwidth limit used for admission, which is (in

userPlaneGbrAdmMarginDl / 100).
If the Dual Stack Iub feature is configured (both ATM and IP have been
configured in userPlaneTransportOption), then all GBR services must be
configured with the same transport option, either ATM or IP, for the
admission control function to work properly.
The bandwidth should always be set to less than or equal to the physical

readOnly
A CAPACITY ALLOCATION control frame is expected at least once per second from the
RBS, per flow controlled HS flow. If a CA control frame hasn't been received for a fixed
period of time, an HS Severe Congestion is considered to have occurred. For each time
period that passes without CA control frames having been correctly received, the
counter is stepped by one.
This counter is stepped for both HSDPA Flow Control and AQM based Congestion
Control for HSDPA.
This counter should normally be zero. A non-zero value indicates that the uplink
throughput has been congested, which prevented CAPACITY ALLOCATION control
frames from coming through.

Condition: Incremented by one when a severe congestion is detected by the

"CAPACITY ALLOCATION Presence Supervision" function in RNC. A CAPACITY
ALLOCATION control frame is expected at least every one second from RBS per flow
