Explain
If this switch is on and the PrachFalseAlarmDetRadThd or RachThdBoostRatio parameter is not set to off, PRACH false alarm detection is
enabled. If the eNodeB considers the initial contention-based preamble sent by a UE as a PRACH false alarm, the eNodeB does not send
the UE a Random Access Response message, nor records the preamble on the performance counter L.RA.GrpA.Att or L.RA.GrpB.Att if
the preamble belongs to group A or B, respectively. If this switch is on and the PrachFalseAlarmDetRadThd and RachThdBoostRatio
parameters are set to off, PRACH false alarm detection is disabled. If this switch is off, PRACH false alarm detection is disabled.
Indicates the threshold of the distance between a UE and the eNodeB for determining whether a contention-based preamble sent by
the UE is a PRACH false alarm. If this parameter is set to 0, the eNodeB does not consider a preamble as a false alarm based on the
distance. If this parameter is set to a non-zero value and the eNodeB detects that the distance is longer than this parameter value, the
preamble is considered as a false alarm. The distance is calculated based on the timing advance (TA) of the contention-based preamble
that the eNodeB received for the first time from a UE.
Indicates the percentage by which the physical random access channel (PRACH) false alarm detection threshold increases. For example,
the value x indicates that the system-defined PRACH false alarm detection threshold increases by x%, and the value -x indicates that the
system-defined PRACH false alarm detection threshold decreases by x%.
When the eNodeB is equipped with LBBPc boards and uses one or two RX antennas, PrachIrcSwitch of the IrcSwitch parameter and the
PrachIntrfRejSwitch parameter together control the interference rejection technique applied to the PRACH. If the PrachIntrfRejSwitch
parameter is set to off, interference rejection is not applied to the PRACH. When the PrachIntrfRejSwitch parameter is set to on,
PrachIrcSwitch of the IrcSwitch parameter takes effect: (1) If PrachIrcSwitch is off, MRC is applied to the PRACH. (2) If PrachIrcSwitch is
on, MRC/IRC adaptation is applied to the PRACH.
If the eNodeB is equipped with LBBPc boards and uses more than two RX antennas, interference rejection is not supported.
If the eNodeB is equipped with LBBPd or UBBPd boards, the PrachIntrfRejSwitch parameter setting does not take effect. (1) If
PrachIrcSwitch is off, MRC is applied to the PRACH. (2) If PrachIrcSwitch is on, MRC/IRC adaptation is applied to the PRACH.
Indicates the code rate for Random Access Response messages and paging messages
A smaller value of this parameter results in a higher reliability of Random Access Response and paging message reception and more RBs
to be occupied by the messages. If there are many Random Access Response messages or paging messages, the cell throughput may
decrease.

PDCCH control channel elements (CCEs). If this parameter is set to ECFIADAPTIONON, the
number of OFDM symbols occupied by the PDCCH is dynamically adjusted based on the cell
downlink throughput, and the adjustment performance is the best among the three methods.
If this switch is on, coverage-based inter-frequency handovers are enabled to ensure service
continuity. If this switch is off, coverage-based inter-frequency handovers are disabled.
Indicates whether the eNodeB uses a new mechanism to send system information block (SIB)
messages. The eNodeB uses the new mechanism to send SIB messages only when this
parameter is set to ON. In this case, the probability of SIB retransmissions decreases and
therefore fewer PDCCH resources are consumed.
Indicates whether to enable uplink smart preallocation when preallocation is enabled (by
turning on PreAllocationSwitch). If both PreAllocationSwitch and SmartPreAllocationSwitch are
on and SmartPreAllocationDuration is set to a value greater than 0, uplink smart preallocation is
enabled; otherwise, uplink smart preallocation is disabled.
Indicates the duration within which the eNodeB performs downlink scheduling based on a low
modulation and coding scheme (MCS) order in handovers. The eNodeB starts this timer after
determining a UE has entered the handover area or has been handed over to the target cell.
The eNodeB performs downlink scheduling based on a low MCS order during the running of this
timer. After the timer expires, the eNodeB performs downlink scheduling based on a new MCS
order after CQI adjustment.
Indicates the aperiodic CQI resource configurations and the triggering condition of aperiodic CQI
reporting during handovers. If this parameter is set to ON(On), aperiodic CQI resource
configurations are included in handover commands. When no periodic CQI resources are
configured for a UE, an aperiodic CQI reporting is triggered when the handed-over UE receives
data. If this parameter is set to OFF(Off), aperiodic CQI resource configurations are not included
in handover commands. The aperiodic CQI resource is configured after the UE is handed over.
Indicates the fixed MIMO transmission mode configured by a multi-antenna eNodeB for UEs.
This parameter is valid only when MimoAdaptiveSwitch is set to NO_ADAPTIVE. There are four
values.
Indicates the type of adaptive MIMO for a multi-antenna eNodeB. The values are described as
follows:
NO_ADAPTIVE: A fixed MIMO transmission mode is used. That is, transition between MIMO
transmission modes is not supported.
FreqSelSwitch: Indicates whether to enable frequency selective scheduling. If this switch is on,
data is transmitted on the frequency band in good signal quality.
PdcchSymSwitch:If this parameter is set to OFF, the number of OFDM symbols occupied by the
PDCCH is fixed and cannot be dynamically adjusted. If this parameter is set to ON, the number
of OFDM symbols occupied by the PDCCH is dynamically adjusted based on the required
number of PDCCH control channel elements (CCEs). If this parameter is set to
ECFIADAPTIONON, the number of OFDM symbols occupied by the PDCCH is dynamically
adjusted based on the cell downlink throughput, and the adjustment performance is the best
among the three methods.
If this parameter is set to ROUND_DOWN, all allocated RBs are fully utilized, spectral efficiency
is high, but cell throughput is relatively low. If this parameter is set to ROUND_UP, a few
allocated RBs are not utilized, spectral efficiency is low, but cell throughput is relatively high.
Compared with setting this parameter to ROUND_UP, setting this parameter to ADAPTIVE does
not waste RBs when the number of required RBGs is less than 1.
If this switch is on, network throughput in the downlink increases. However, if two consecutive
DTXs occur because of inconsistent DTX active status on the UE side and the eNodeB side, the
downlink block error rate (BLER) may increase.
Indicates the initial step in which channel quality indicators (CQIs) are adjusted for UEs that
initially access or are handed over to the network. If the periodically measured initial block error
rate (IBLER) exceeds the fixed IBLER threshold, the CQI adjustment step is changed to its fixed
default value 0.1.
If this parameter is set to OFF, the value of simultaneousAckNackAndCQI becomes False, that is,
CQI and ACK/NACK cannot be simultaneously sent on the PUCCH. When this parameter is set to
ON, the value of simultaneousAckNackAndCQI becomes True, that is, CQI and ACK/NACK can be
simultaneously sent on the PUCCH.
If this switch is on, MRC/IRC adaptation applies to the PUCCH. If this switch is off, MRC applies
to the PUCCH. Note that LBBPc boards do not support MRC/IRC adaptation on the PUCCH.
Indicates the maximum coding rate on the PDCCH. The coding rate on the PDCCH cannot
exceed this parameter value. Otherwise the PDCCH aggregation level must be increase.
Indicates whether to enable outer-loop PUCCH power control. Outer-loop PUCCH power control
is enabled only when this switch is on.This option does not apply to cells established on LBBPc
boards.
Indicates whether to enable or disable interference randomizing for paging messages. If this
switch is on, interference randomizing is enabled for paging messages. This switch is valid only
in TDD mode.

Indicates whether to configure sounding reference signal (SRS) resources for UEs in a cell. The
value BOOLEAN_TRUE indicates that SRS resources are available in the cell and can be
configured for UEs in the cell. The value BOOLEAN_FALSE indicates that no SRS resource is
available in the cell, and therefore no UE in the cell is configured with SRS resources.
Indicates whether to enable Uplink Coordinated Multiple Points Reception (UL CoMP) for a
cell.
If this switch is on, both the average cell throughput in the uplink and uplink throughput of cell
edge users (CEUs) increase. The improved uplink throughput of CEUs indicates better network
coverage in the uplink.
Indicates whether to increase the scheduling request indicator (SRI) false detection threshold
for UEs in the discontinuous reception (DRX) state. If this parameter is set to ON, the
threshold increases and the SRI false detection probability decreases.
Indicates whether the uplink scheduler performs scheduling without considering power
control restrictions. If this switch is on, the uplink scheduler performs scheduling without
considering power control restrictions, which ensures full utilization of the transmit power for
all UEs. If this switch is off, the uplink scheduler considers power control restrictions while
performing scheduling, which prevents full utilization of the transmit power for UEs at far or
medium distances from the cell center.
Indicates whether to enable UEs with discontinuous reception (DRX) enabled to enter the DRX
sleep time after two consecutive discontinuous transmissions (DTXs) are detected. Consider
that this parameter is set to ON and DRX is enabled for a UE in common scenarios. After
detecting two consecutive DTXs, the eNodeB determines whether to enable the UE to enter
the DRX sleep time based on the stop time of the DRXInactivityTimer timer instead of
promptly enabling the UE to enter the DRX sleep time. If the eNodeB detects the two
consecutive DTXs after the DRXInactivityTimer timer stops, the UE enters the DRX sleep time.
If the eNodeB detects the two consecutive DTXs before the DRXInactivityTimer timer stops,
the UE does not enter the DRX sleep time
Indicates the offset to the starting position of each PRACH in the frequency domain of the FDD
cell.
This parameter determines the frequency-domain position of each PRACH.
This parameter affects the interference to the PRACH of the local cell and the interference to
the PRACH and PUSCH of neighboring cells.
This parameter affects the maximum number of consecutive RBs that can be scheduled for the
PUSCH.
Indicates whether to enable random access channel (RACH) resource adjustment, which
adaptively adjusts the RACH resources in the cell based on the access type and the number of
access attempts. If the switch is off, RACH resource adjustment is disabled.
Indicates whether to enable PRACH frequency-domain position adaptation. If this option is
selected, the PRACH frequency-domain position is adaptively adjusted based on the PUCCH
resource usage. If this option is deselected, the PRACH frequency-domain position is not
adaptively adjusted based on the PUCCH resource usage.
Indicates whether the RRCConnectionReconfiguration message sent from the source eNodeB
to a UE contains the power headroom configuration during a handover where the eNodeB
works as the target eNodeB. If this parameter is set to ON(On), the
RRCConnectionReconfiguration message must contain the power headroom configuration. If
this parameter is set to OFF(Off), the power headroom configuration is optional in the
RRCConnectionReconfiguration message.
If this parameter is set to ON, a UE can send the power headroom report (PHR) to the eNodeB
in time after the UE is handed over to the target cell. This can prevent throughput decreases
to zero caused by continuous scheduling each time with 3 resource blocks (RBs) in the uplink
and increase the uplink throughput. This also adds 8 bits to the size of the
RRCConnectionReconfiguration message, thereby increasing the probability of fragmenting
the RRCConnectionReconfiguration message. In this case, the handover success rate
decreases and the service drop rate increases.
If this switch is turned on, the eNodeB configures less UEs with a short CQI reporting period.
This decreases PUCCH resources to be used and increases available PUSCH resources, and
therefore leads to a higher uplink peak rate. In addition, the downlink performance decreases
because the number of UEs using a long CQI reporting period increases and such UEs cannot
timely feed back the channel quality.
If this switch is turned off, the eNodeB configures more UEs with a short CQI reporting period.
This increases PUCCH resources to be used and decreases available PUSCH resources, and
therefore leads to a lower uplink peak rate. In addition, the downlink performance improves
because the number of UEs with a short CQI reporting period increases and such UEs can
timely feed back the channel quality.
Indicates whether to apply optimized closed-loop power control for the PUSCH to UEs near
the cell center. The optimization helps UEs near the cell center to avoid unnecessary power
lowering due to inter-RAT or abrupt interference. If this switch is on, optimized closed-loop
power control for the PUSCH is applied to UEs near the cell center. If this switch is off,
optimized closed-loop power control for the PUSCH is not applied to UEs near the cell center.
This switch applies only to LTE FDD cells
