47 year old venkatesh was admitted to Dr Patnam Mahender Reddy

Institute of Medical Sciences, Chevella, with history of two episodes of

hematemesis, today, since morning. He was anemic and sclera was yellowish in

color, hypotension and tachycardic. Superior endoscopy reveled, esophageal

varices. He died soon after shifting to general medicine ward. He was an

alcoholic for past 15 years and diagnosed with cirrhosis of liver and on irregular

treatment. Frequently binging of alcohol was present. There is a history of

medical consultation two days prior to be present admission for the same reason.

He is known case of hypertension for the past 7 years on irregular treatment.
