1. Examine figure 1 below showing a c.s. of a dicot root and the labels.
2. Examine the micrograph of a c.s. of a dicot root (viewing magnification x4000) in figure 2.
Produce a plan drawing of figure 2 (NO CELLULAR DETAIL – ONLY REGIONS/OUTLINES OF THE
DIFFERENT TISSUES). You will have to ‘zoom’ into the image to have a clear view of the
pericycle.
3. You may reference the mark scheme attached as well.
