Ego Consciousness :

Meet Your Ego @ the. holistic. psychologist

The ego is the “I” identity, or the concept of who we are based on our earliest life
experiences.
Your ego lives in your subconscious mind, contains repeated narratives about who
you and acts as the filter through which you view all of your current experiences.

To meet your ego, you must first cultivate consciousness, or the ability to
self-witness.
What is self-witnessing?
Self-witnessing is the practice of objectively viewing your internal world of thoughts
and feelings*.
It's the awareness that you are a Self who experiences thoughts and feelings, and that
you are not the thoughts and feelings themselves. *For guidance cultivating and expanding
your own consciousness/self-witnessing practice, please use the Awaken Consciousness Course within your
portal.

Cultivate a practice of self-witnessing by observing and journaling

the following prompts:
How do you think and speak about yourself throughout the day? To help you explore
this, focus on observing the thoughts and phrases that follow when saying the words "I
am __________."

How often do you become distracted with thoughts about yourself or center
conversations around yourself and your own life experience(s)?

How often do you react defensively, and how do you feel, when someone disagrees
with your opinion or when you read/hear an alternate view?

How often, and when, do you think negative thoughts about yourself?

How often, and when, do you feel jealous/less worthy than others?

If humans do not have a strong foundation of consciousness/self-witnessing, they live unconsciously: unaware of
their thoughts, patterns, and behaviors.
When you live this way, you are completely identified with your egoic concept of who you are.
