The term of sustainable development can be defined as development that meet the needs of

present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs (WCED /
Bruntland Commission, 1987). These days, the concept of sustainability has become increasingly
essential especially to the development of property. There are three (3) sustainability elements that
need to be implements in property development project which are environment, society and
economy. In terms of environment, it refers to the 'green' buildings / developments, which is known
to be the conventional type of pollution, energy efficiency and renewable sources-related to
sustainability requirements. For example, developers can implement using renewable energy such as
solar, wind and water. Also, physical environment that are safe and also healthy will be able to
create and improve the unsustainable living. The physical environment of the area speaks to the
contribution of safe, clean and comfortable surroundings to make a positive environment in the
area.
