WDZ-5271 TV management relay(V1.02)

WDZ-5271 TV management relay

1 Application

WDZ-5271 TV management relay is mainly applied to 10KV/6KV/380V system in power

plant for Y/Y/open delta or Y/Y/Y type TV protection, measurement and control function.

2 Protection functions and principles

2.1 TV fuse-loss alarm

If at least one phase voltage is normal but one phase voltage value is smaller than the setpoint of
1st zone UV protection, the device will block under-voltage protection instantaneously and issue
TV fuse-loss alarm signals after 10s delay.
In order to avoid the mal-operation of UV protection due to simultaneous 3-phase fuse-loss, the
device replaces Uca (fuse-end voltage) by Uca’(fuse-forepart voltage) for logic discrimination.

2.1.2 Criterion

U max > U d 1

U min < U d 1
Where, Umax:the maximum value of phase-to-phase voltage(Uab、Ubc、Uca’)(V)
Umin:the minimum value of phase-to-phase voltage(Uab、Ubc、Uca’)(V)
Ud1:action value of 1st zone Under-voltage protection(V)

2.2 1st zone under-voltage protection

The device supplies 3 zones of under-voltage protections.
In order to avoid a mal-operation of UV protection when TV fuse-loss occurs, the UV
protection will be blocked by switch position DI instantaneously. When the TV works well, the
DI-switch position is closed, namely this is a break contact. When the TV fault occurs, the DI will
be opened, the UV protection will be blocked and alarm signal will be issued.

2.7 Non-electrical quantity alarm

The device supplies 3 non-electrical quantity protections, which are associated with
non-electrical quantity DIs. The DI for switch position is break contact, namely, when the DI is
opened, alarm signal will be issued. The other 2 DIs are make contacts, when the relative DI is
closed, the corresponding protection will be triggered.

6 Setting explanation

6.1 Note
This part is for reference only.

6.2 1st zone under-voltage protection

In order to ensure that the key motor can self-start, the under-voltage protection of some
unnecessary motors can be disabled after a time delay of 0.5s. The settings are as follows:
Action value: Ud1 =(0.6~0.7)Un
Action time: t1=0.5s
The protection output can be set as any one through trip matrix.

6.3 2nd zone under-voltage protection

The protection is applied to the motors that are not permitted self-startup at power-on when
they are stopped completely.
Action value:Ud2 =(0.4~0.45)Un
Action time: t2 =9s
The protection output can be set as any one through trip matrix.

6.4 3rd zone under-voltage protection

It’s the standby under-voltage protection.
Action value: Ud3 =(0.4~0.45)Un
Action time: t3 =(0.5~9)s
The protection output can be set as any one through trip matrix.

6.5 Zero sequence overvoltage alarm

Basically the action value U0dz=(15~30)V, to avoid the TV unbalanced voltage under normal
operation condition.
