8 Mile is a movie about Jimmy, A teenage rapper who is struggling in many


areas of his life and wants to become famous. Jimmy is a White American
who is trying to make it big in the Hip-Hop scene, which is an African-
American World.

Background of the study

Overcoming racism is easier said than done, but Jimmy was able to do it
uniquely. This fictional work is an important issue to educate the public to
overcome racism.

Researching the 8 Mile movie, which depicts a lot of racism and
discrimination based on race, led the researcher to the Critical Race
Theory, which draws from Marxism
