Reflection Paper

Dekada ‘70

This movie was a film connected on the Law that declared by the former president of the
Philippines that time, whose name was Ferdinand Marcos, showing a socio-political
awareness, and also the significance of being honest to your family because it will make you
stay together. During that time on 1971 Marcos was being elected as a president of the
Philippines. I cannot relate but the people was protesting at the public they have banners of
‘KB’, which is I really didn’t know what is actually means.. Since I am not that interested
about what Marcos did, I saw people eagerly showing their anger on what does the President
have done, it is letting police officer can do whatever they want and can arrest you even
without warrant. The movie was quite unforgettable because they showed how the police
officer is being rude to the protest, having no justice even though they got killed and
throwing you anywhere. I can’t really understand the declaration of martial law but this
movie enlightened me so much. There is a family that showing a different kinds of a sons, on
how a mother can as a part of a family but she has a son that have a heart of rebellion. Of
course as a mother you know how and what is good for your son but this family is different
from others. Their parents are strict but they still let their children do what they wanted to do.
I maybe not experience the happenings on that early year but one thing that remains on me is
that whatever may come to us even if it is good or bad. We can never attain perfection since
we are just a human. Whatever we want in terms of justice remember that forcing something
that below the law will never let us win instead we need to think positively and as much as
possible we need the guidance of the Lord. In this movie I never saw people having mercy
they have anger in their heart that’s why they only see the bad side focusing on what is not
really happening. As to enclosed this reflection of mine the lesson that I got is about the
family, because as a family we are the one who needs to show the good aspect before that we
can share the goodness as we go to the public , and never used violence and rebellion as a
justice.
