• Today we will discusses topic health and hygiene which is 12
topic in your regular Hand book.
What is Hygiene ?
• Hygiene refer to a conditions and practices that
help to maintain health and prevent the spread of
diseases.
Personal Hygiene
• Every person should keep mentally, Physically and socially
healthy and then he give good service to society and to
nation.
• Cleanliness of Body.
• Balance Diet.
• Exercise of the body.
• Rest and sleep.
• Clean and Pleasant Environment.
• Carefree life.
• Including Good habits.
• Avoiding toxics Substance.
Environmental Hygiene.
Environmental hygiene is the practices or conditions that help
preserve health in the environment.
8 ways to clean your Environment.
• Clean your surrounding.
• Plant more trees.
• Reduce the use of Plastic Bags.
• Make minimum use of Vehicle to prevent pollution.
• Make use of CFLs and LED blubs to save electricity.
• Do not pollute Natural Resources.
• Waste Management.
• Follow 3R mantras( Reduce, Reuse and Recycle).
Intoxicants:
• Intoxicants like Liquor, Cigarettes, Bhang, Drugs have
harmful effect on the body. Therefore one should not
consume them.
Healthy Diet:
• A healthy diet is one that helps maintain or improve overall
health. A healthy diet provides the body with essential
nutrition like Proteins, Carbohydrates, Vitamins, Fats, etc.
• Avoid Junk Foods.

• A disease is a particular abnormal condition that negatively
affects the structure or function of all or part of an
organism, and that is not due to any immediate external
injury.

How is it spread?
• Coronavirus is a respiratory illness that is spread from
person to person.
• It is spread through respiratory droplets including saliva,
coughs and sneezes.
Who is at risk?
• Anyone can contract covid -19.
• Those who are at higher risk of contracting the virus are
those who work directly with those who are sick(health care
workers).
• People who live in an area that has an on-going spread of the
coronavirus are also at risk.
• People from age group of 0-10 and above 50 yrs.
Symptoms of covid-19
• Fever.
• Cough.
• Shortness of Breath.
• Tiredness.
• Sore throat.
• Headache.
• Loss of taste or smell.
