SUBJECT APPLICATION FOR FOREIGN TRAVEL OF LOCAL

TREASURERS AND ASSISTANT TREASURERS

Pursuant to Section 470(a) of the Local Government Code of 1991, a local

treasurer shall be appointed by the Secretary of Finance from a list of at
least three (3) ranking, eligible recommendees of the governor or mayor
XXX. Further, Section 471(a) provides that an assistant local treasurer
may be appointed by the Secretary of Finance from a list of at least three
(3) ranking, eligible recommendees of the governor or mayor XXX.

Per Department of Finance (DOF) Department Special Order No.

001.2018 dated November 9, 2018 and DOF Department Order No.
085.2019 dated December 3, 2019, the provincial, city and municipal
treasurers and assistant treasurers are under the administrative
supervision of the DOF and their travel authorities shall emanate from the
DOF thru the Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF).

In view thereof, all requests for travel abroad of provincial, city or municipal
treasurers and assistant treasurers shall be approved by the BLGF
Executive Director.
