AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Section

55-8-199, relative to traffic safety.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:

SECTION 1. This act is known and may be cited as the "Eddie Conrad Act."

SECTION 2. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 55-8-199(c), is amended by adding

the following as a new subdivision (4):

(A) A second or subsequent violation of this section by a person who is younger

than eighteen (18) years of age results in seven (7) points being charged to the person's

driving record.

(B) If a person is eighteen (18) years of age or older, then:

(i) A first or second violation of this section results in four (4) points being

charged to the person's driving record; and

(ii) A third or subsequent violation of this section results in five (5) points

being charged to the person's driving record.

SECTION 3. This act takes effect July 1, 2023, the public welfare requiring it.
