Job Description:
We are looking for experienced VOB and Prior-Authorization Specialists to join our healthcare
team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the verification of benefits
(VOB) and prior authorization processes for medical procedures and services. Ideal candidate
will possess strong communication and customer service skills, along with a comprehensive
knowledge of medical terminology, insurance coverage, and healthcare regulations.
Job Responsibilities: As a VOB and Prior-Authorization Specialist, you will have a crucial role in
the healthcare system, ensuring that patients receive the necessary medical procedures and
services with proper insurance coverage. Some of your responsibilities will include reviewing
and verifying patient insurance benefits prior to medical procedures or services, obtaining
necessary prior authorizations, and coordinating with healthcare providers to ensure proper
documentation and timely submission of prior authorization requests. You will communicate
with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies regarding authorization and
benefits verification and provide support and guidance to patients regarding insurance
coverage and payment options. Additionally, you will monitor and track authorization and
benefits verification status for patients and maintain accurate and up-to-date records of
authorization and benefits verification activities.
Qualification and Skills: To qualify for the VOB and Prior-Authorization Specialist position, the
candidate should have a bachelor's or associate degree in healthcare or a related field, with a
minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare, insurance, or a related field. Candidate should
have a comprehensive understanding of medical terminology, insurance coverage, and
healthcare regulations, along with excellent communication and customer service skills.
Candidate should also be fluent in English, with attention to detail, strong organizational and
time-management skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical records
(EMR) systems as other important qualifications for this role.
