Background
Units Engineering Consultancy Private Limited (UEC) was established in 2008, with the
objective of providing a wide range of services across diverse sectors of infrastructural
development with especial focused in the planning, design and construction of hydropower
schemes in the Nepal abroad

Since its establishment, the company has been dealing with all activities of consulting
engineering: planning studies, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, preliminary and final
detailed designs, preparation of pre-qualification and bidding documents, consultancy services,
assistance to the clients in the project financing and in the bidding processes, construction
management and supervision.
The core activity of the company has been the study, design, construction management of dams,
hydraulic structures, hydroelectric and multipurpose projects dealing with irrigation &
agricultural development. Moreover, UEC is active in Nepal and abroad in numerous other
engineering sectors such architectural/structural design, study of road, micro hydro power
projects, small hydropower projects, irrigation project, water supply projects power transmission
and distribution systems, project construction management, environmental, social and
institutional studies, project financing.

Ankit obtained his BE in Mechanical Engineering in 2016,

from Institute of Engineering, Pulchowk Campus. He again
joined this institution as assistant lecturer at Pulchowk
Campus and research assistant at Center for Energy
Studies, where he designed low head hydropower for the
project ‘Pilot project testing and installation of gravitation
Ankit Gautam water vortex power plant’ funded by the Ministry of Energy
Mechanical Engineer and Irrigation. He accepted his current position at Units
Engineering Consultancy Pvt. Ltd. in June 2018. Ankit’s
main works lie in the design, consulting and technical
support on the mechanical components of the hydropower
plants. He performed design and gave consulting for the
numerous hydropower projects including the
commissioned projects such as Super Mai-A HPP, Super
Mai Khola Cascade HPP, Padam Khola SHPP, and Super
Mai HPP. In 2019, he started studying MSc in Mechanical
System Design and Engineering in the Institute of
Engineering, Pulchowk Campus.
