Paragraph 1
Main Idea: The influences of information technology in life and work.
Details: The internet is used to look and apply for jobs, shop, conduct research, make airline
reservations, and explore areas of interest. Itis also used to connect and communicate with
friends and business associates around the world.
Paragraph 2:
Main Idea: The narrowing gap of digital divide between the populations who have access to the
internet and to those who don't have access is based on income, race, education, household
type, and geographical location,
Details: The gap between those who have internet access and those who don't seems to be
narrowing. A majority of households with an income of $75,000 have internet access, compared
to the families with income under $15,000. Most college graduates use the internet compared
with high school completers and highschool dropouts. Households with two parents have
internet access while there is a lesser percentage to the female, single-parent households who
have intemet access. Differences also found among households and families are from different
racial and ethnic groups. The number of intemet users who are children under nine years old
and persons over fifty has tripled since 1997. Families in inner cities are less likely to have
‘computers and internet access than those in urban and rural areas.
Paragraph 3:
Main Idea: Women and members of the most oppressed ethnic group have the least
percentage of having high-paying salaries and/or information technology jobs after graduation.
Details: African- American, Latinos, and Native Americans hold few of the jobs in information
technology. Women hold about 20 percent of these jobs and receive fewer than 30 percent of
the Bachelor's degrees in computer and information science. Baccalaureate candidates with
degree in computer science were offered the highest salaries of all new college graduates.
Paragraph 4:
Main Idea: There is a disparity of the number of classrooms having wired internet connection at
school.
Details: A majority of schools in the country are wired with at least one intemet connection. The
number of classrooms with intemet connection differs by the income level of students. The
higher percentage of the schools with more affluent students have wired classrooms than those
with high concentrations of low-income students,
Paragraph 5:Main Idea: Reducing the disparities between groups includes having access to computers and
information technologies; however, access alone is not enough. They should be interacting with
technology in authentic settings.
Details: Access to computers and the internet will be important in reducing disparities between
groups. If computers and the internet are to be used to promote equality, they have to become
accessible to schools that cannot currently afford the equipment which needs to be updated
regularly every three years or so. However, access alone is not enough; there should also be an
interaction with Technology in authentic settings. As Technology has become a tool for
learning in almost all courses taken by students, it will be seen as a means to an end rather
than an end in itself. Ifit is used in culturally relevant ways, all students can benefit from its
power.

those earning $15,000 or less. Compared to high school and dropouts,
college graduates use the internet more. Also, internet access varies
across houses and families of different racial and ethnic groups. The

in IT. Women hold about 20% of these occupations, but fewer than 30%
of bachelor’s degrees in computer and information science, Computer
science baccalaureate candidates earned the most.
B. Facts to support what listed in B 1-3
1, According to the statistics offered in the narrative, there is a statistically
significant difference in the accessibility of the internet between families
with higher incomes and those with lower earnings. Households with
greater incomes are far more likely to have an intemet connection than
those who do not have the financial ability to ean more money.
2, Men are more likely than women to earn a better wage in information
technology careers, according to data (with only 20 percent of these
Positions held by women). Only a small minority of the world's most
persecuted ethnic groups achieve success in information
technology-related employment
3, Affluent pupils’ access to wired internet connections is more visible than
that of lower-income students. When the number of children eligible for
free meals at a school is used to estimate income level, the more wealthy
schools have a larger percentage of wired classrooms than those with a
significant concentration of low-income pupils.
C. Summary of facts to support A and B
Conclusion
A. Whi
1, Everyone who earns $75,000 or more has access to the internet. College
grads utlize the intemet more than high school and dropouts. Also,
intemet access differs by racial and cultural group. Since 1997, the
number of children under nine and seniors using the internet has tripled.
Urban and rural families are less likely to have internet access. Minorities
in IT are underrepresented. Women occupy around 20% of these jobs,
but just 30% of bachelor's degrees in computer and information science.
Candidates in computer science earned the most.
2. High-income households have more access to the internet than
lower-income ones. Data show that males earn more than women in IT
jobs (with only 20 percent of these positions held by women). The rich
schools have a higher proportion of wired classrooms than those with a
high population of low-income students. Only a few of the world's most
persecuted ethnic groups succeed when it comes to earning an internet
connection.
le the intemet has a variety of effects on people's lives, the differences
between those who have access to it and those who do not are dictated by
soci
ioeconomic level, gender, education, household type, and geographic
location. The internet is vital in many facets of human existence. However, there
isa

bachelor's degree holders in computer and information science. Computer
science students made the most. Less-advantaged families have less access to
the intemet, Males eam more than females in IT careers (with only 20 percent of
these positions held by women). The wealthy schools have more wired
classrooms than the poor ones. Only a handful of the world's most oppressed
ethnic groups have internet access
. The narrative has shown the important use of the internet in many aspects of
human life. It has given concrete evidence on how the internet influences people
based on different bases and sectors it possesses. The Digital Di The Challenge of Technology and Equity
The internet has various effects on people's lives and careers, the discrepancy between
those who have access to the intemet and those who do not have been identified based on
socioeconomic position, gender, education, household type, and geographical location of a
person and the widespread usage of the intemet applies to a wide range of facets of human
existence. A significant discrepaney exists between people who can use the internet and those
who cannot access the internet and careers in information technology. There is a vast disparity
between the accessibility of the internet and the availability of IT-related professions. The
differences in income, education, and racial and ethnic groupings among families offer a primary
picture of internet access availability. It has also been shown that the success of acquiring
high-paying information technology jobs after graduation is connected with the gender and
ethnicity of those who pursue them. People from privileged backgrounds are more likely than
those from less privileged backgrounds to access the internet. When comparing affluent students
to low-income pupils, institutions and schools demonstrate a significant discrepancy in access to
information technology.
Intemet
ess is provided to people earning $75,000 or more per year but not those
caring $15,000 or less. College graduates utilize the internet at a higher rate than high school
students and dropouts. In addition, internet access differs across residences and families
belonging to various racial and cultural groupings, among other things. The number of children
below the age of nine and adults over the age of fifly who use the internet has tripled,
Households in urban and rural areas are less likely than other households to have access to
computers and the internet. African-Americans, Latinos, and Native Americans are
underrepresented in the information technology industry. Women account for around 20% of the
workforce in these professions, although they account for less than 30% of bachelor's degrees in
computer and information science. Candidates with baccalaureate degrees in computer science
eamed the most.
According to the facts presented in the text, there is a statistically significant difference
in internet accessibility between families with higher incomes and those with lower incomes.More internet connections are found in households with higher earnings than those with lower
incomes or who do not have the financial means to earn more money.
Males are more likely than women to eam higher pay in information technology
occupations, such as programming (with only 20 percent of these positions held by women).
Only a tiny proportion of ethnic groups from the world's most persecuted countries are
successful in information technology-related occupations.
The availability of wired internet connections among kids from affluent families is more
noticeable than students from lower-income families. According to the findings, when the
number of children eligible for free meals at a school is used to estimate income level, the
wealthier schools had a higher percentage of wired classrooms than the schools with a significant
concentration of low-income students.
Finally, there is a significant separation between those who can access the intemet and
those who are unable to, Anyone with a salary of $75,000 or more has access to the intemet. The
availability of internet connectivity varies depending on ethnicity and culture. Since 1997, there
has been an upsurge in internet use by youngsters under nine and seniors. Rural and urban
houscholds have lower levels of internet connectivity, while less advantaged families have even
lower levels of internet access, Males earn far more than females in information technology
occupations, with women holding just 20% of available roles.
The text has shown the significant role of the internet in a wide range of facets of human
existence. As a result, tangible proof has been provided on how the internet impacts individuals
depending on the many bases and sectors that it contains. It was well-informed and detailed in its
exploration of the many sectors in which the internet has relevance. I enjoyed it. Overall, it has
stayed detailed and knowledgeable about its subject matter, and it has provided statistical data
that includes accurate values and percentages, among other things. What | Can Do

11. Vigorously
In a vigorous and forceful manner. To be aware of one's deeds where the nation would be put first before the self, the
individuals that conform into it. The excerpt "Ang Bayan Muna Bago Ang Sarili" by Jaime
Cardinal Sin, which he had spoken as a sermon in the Catholic Archbishop of Manila to
commemorate the Sth death anniversary of former president Ninoy Aquino, intends to capture
and touch the sociological reality of the Filipinos. Moreover, while he explores the concept of
"Bayan Muna Bago Ang Sarili" as an idea that never seems to develop coneretely, he also hinted
that a nation would succumb to anarchy if its members choose to turn against one another.
Jaime claims that the initials K.K.K, which stands for "Kanyang-Kanya'ng Katwiran,
Kanya-Kanya'ng Kagustuhan, Kanya-Kanya'ng Kabig (or worse), Kanya-Kanya'ng Kurakot or
whatever else he excels in," is the truest credo that molds the Filipino character. He asserted
‘unequivocally that the reality is K.K.K. and that the phrase "Bayan Muna Bago Ang Sari" is an
abstract that is just useful for appearances. He justified that criticism was meant to be a path to
freedom and that speaking is a key to a free nation. However, suppose we make criticism a way
of life, taking pleasure in tearing down, demoralizing, and destabilizing one another. In that case,
it could lead to the destruction of hope, which would disproportionately affect the poor. Finally,
he stated that if our behaviors represent ourselves, it is hard to imagine a nation founded on the
concept of togetherness.
At the outset, he had already mapped out the flow of his arguments. In comparison,
he wondered whether Ninoy's goal had come true and if the people had ever succeeded in putting
aside their differences to put the country's interests ahead of their own. It was later discovered
that this was not the case— that his statements contained an implicit appeal to the people to
make a difference for the county.
‘As a reader, itis hard to fathom that today’s societal reality evokes the crab mentality
Criticism becomes the basis of demoralizing and a game of haggling each other down to benefit
oneself, As he made an analogy about Kanya-Kanya'ng Katwiran, Kanya-Kanya'ng Kagustuhan
said: See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil; Jaime created a sense of wonder if it has become a
national pastime to see, hear, and speak ill against fellow citizens.Furthermore, he proceeded to contradict himself on his argument for the definition of
talk. According to him, "talk can be a great service in a free nation, a space for free discussion,
intelligent debate, exchange of information and perception, and the clash of views." However,
how can this definition of talk be achieved if the society does not comply with the idea of
hearing, seeing, and speaking no evil towards each other that he spoke of This, in tun, becomes
increasingly questionable in a critical society where Jaime did not provide examples of how
talking could better serve a nation.
Following was a significant aspect of his excerpt where he expounded on a quote from
Ninoy that states, "We must criticize to be free because we are free only when criticized." Jaime
claimed that criticism is not an end in itself; it is not absolute and that criticism is a way to help
us have our freedom, However, making criticism a baseline for what a person would do for a
living, a lifestyle, he deduced that it is the path to self-destruction and despair that significantly
affects the lowerclassmen. This is especially true to the era Jaime stated in his excerpt.
Communists, rebels, and killings were present. It was inevitable, and if we continuously press on
to the concept of lashing into each other, freedom is far from reach.
Additionally, the excerpt was rela
fable to the current times. As Jaime cluded,
Kanya-Kanya'ng Kabig, Kanya-Kanya'ng Kurakot, which spoke of thievery and of corruption
happening in his era that also applies in the present. As seen in most of the multimedia platforms,
there have been numerous corruption reports. An example would be, as GCR stated, the risk of
corruption is high in the judicial system. In turn, for favorable judicial decisions, bribes and
irregular payments are expected. Jaime also emphasized that these problems must be addressed
vigorously and unrelentingly, which is important because if this is left unaddressed, it can be
especially damaging, jeopardizing hard-won gains in human and economic development,
international security, and population health (Mackey et al., 2016)
Not only that, but according to him, "If all we do is talk and talk, and throw dirt at each
other— forgetting to mind the ship and its engines, and steer it in mine-filled waters— why, we
will still be talking and quarreling when our ship goes down into the sea!" This phrase wassuccessfully done in a metaphorical context letting the readers visualize as if the quarrelling
transpired in a ship, and once we focused on the quarrelling instead of the waters present before
Us, it could lead into an impending downfall not just for everyone, but the nation itself
Finally, although Jaime made an appeal to the people to think and mend their ways of
being overly critical where criticism was taken into a level of pleasure, of seeking destruction, he
also asked a rhetorical question which tries to prove his point that people have been too calloused
of not taking the principle "Bayan Muna Bago Ang Sarili" into account, That if only people have
brought this principle to govern their deeds, to their conduct in the society, it would've been a
smart move to do.
Overall, the excerpt "Ang Bayan Muna Bago Ang Sarili" by Jaime Cardinal Sin was
able to visualize and convey a message to its readers that a nation would be an insufferable place
if its people don't come into terms with one another. It was interesting as to how he was able to
integrate the use of several literary devices such as metaphor to prove his point while he raised
awareness about the wrong use of criticism and corruption that happens in the country. It
became the start of the realization that if we do not work together for a better place, for a better
nation, and for a better country, it'll only backlash onto ourselves as we sink into our own
demise,
