Cystitis is inflammation of the
bladder, usually caused by a
bladder infection.

Cystitis is the most common


lower urinary tract infection.
SYMPTOMS OF CYSTITIS

pain, burning or urine that is dark, feeling like you need

Mild cystitis will usually clear
up on its own within a few
days, although sometimes you
may need to take antibiotics.
Nitrofurantoin it's used to treat
and prevent lower urinary
tract infections (UTIs), such as
cystitis.
palpate bladder for distention
palpate fundus
obtain urine specimen for culture and
sensitivity if prescribed
institute measures to assist the client to
void.
encourage frequent and complete
emptying of the bladder.
force fluids to 3000 mL per day.
administer antibiotics as prescribed after
the urine culture is obtained.
instruct the client in the methods of
prevention and treatment of cystitis.
