Grade Is Not Just A Number
Grade Is Not Just A Number
Stepping across the stage and receiving your "Certificate of Recognition for being a with
honor student" is one of the greatest and most proud feelings. On the other hand, having low and
failing grades is quite depressing. One of our aims in school is to get high and passable marks. Grades
have been painstakingly computed for centuries to represent a student's overall academic
accomplishment. In addition, it is the aggregation of evaluations on numerous categories, notably
performance, written work, and quarterly examinations. And, as usual, students are urged to aim for
the 90 percent. Although some may argue that "Grades are only a number," "Grades do not
determine who you are," and "Grades do not influence your future," what is so remarkable about
this piece of paper imprinted with two-digit marks beside arrays of topic areas? Good grades are
significant to obtain for four reasons.
they give people an idea of your academic strengths, interests, and ability to learn new
things.
