Have an interview with SPED (Special Education) Teacher with the following
guide questions:

1. Name, age, years in service (as SPED Teacher)


 Maecel Joy Morillo, 36 years old, 10 years as SPED Teacher.

2. Lived experiences in teaching learners with special needs.


 For 10 years in teaching, the experience is challenging when it
comes to handling different kinds of learners with
difficulties/disabilities is not easy. It really requires a lot of
patience and a deep understanding of each learner’s strengths and
challenges.

3. Problems/challenges encountered in teaching learners with special needs.


 Some problems and challenges in teaching learners with special
needs are that learners have a different way of learning. Using
different strategies in addressing the needs of each learner on how
to teach is one of the challenges may encounter. Considering that
learners with special needs have different kinds of disabilities,
every difficult of learners has a different way of strategies for
teaching or how they will be going to handle it.

4. Coping mechanisms and strategies addressing problems/challenges


encountered in teaching learners with special needs.
 Coping mechanism as a teacher is you must have an open heart to
teach learners with special educational needs, be patient,
innovative, and resourceful teacher. It requires teachers to be
patient, empathetic, and flexible in their approach, and to
advocate for the necessary resources and support to ensure that
all learners can succeed.

5. Effective strategies in teaching learners with special needs.


 The effective strategies in teaching learners with special needs
based on experience are that teaching learners with special needs
requires one-on-one tutorials considering that each learner must
have an individualized approach unique strength, challenges, and
learning style. Also, using real objects or tangible materials and
the aid of audiovisuals devices to get their attention. We must also
provide positive feedback to them to build learners’ confidence.

We are third-year students studying at Central Mindanao Colleges, taking up


Bachelor of Secondary Education. We are interested in learning more about the
teachers’ experiences in teaching in the field of Special Education at Magpet
National High School, and we are writing to ask if you would be willing to allow
us to conduct an interview with teachers who teach students with special needs.

We would appreciate hearing the teacher’s perspective, experiences, and any


advice they may have in teaching “Special Education”. Thank you for your
