Definition

Factors influencing attitudes towards sex education can vary among

individuals and cultures. However, some common factors include religious

and cultural beliefs, family values and upbringing, societal norms and taboos,

educational background and exposure, and personal experiences or traumas

related to sex or sexuality. Religious and cultural beliefs often shape

individuals' perspectives on sexuality and may influence their acceptance or

resistance to comprehensive sex education. Family values and upbringing play

a significant role in shaping attitudes, as parents or guardians are influential

in transmitting values and beliefs about sex education. (Orzan & Ocrin,2005)
