1. What is Republic Act No. 10912 all about?
 otherwise known as the “Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Act
of 2016”, is an act which requires CPD as the mandatory requirement for
the renewal of Professional Identification Card.
2. When the Law enacted and what was its date of effectivity?
 The CPD Act lapsed into Law on July 21, 2016 and it took effect on
August 16, 2016.
3. When is the implementation of R.A. No. 10912?
 The implementation of R.A. No. 10912 started on March 15, 2017, upon
the effectivity of Resolution No. 1032 or the Implementing Rules and
Regulations (IRR) of R.A.
4. For Nurses, pursuant to Resolution No. 10, s. 2017, of the Professional
Regulatory Board of Nursing, enumerate the transitory period for the
compliance of CPD Credit Units.

5. On February 7, 2019, PRC issued Resolution No. 2019-1146 that outlined

the new Implementing Regards and Regulations (IRR) of the CPD Law,
enumerate the significant provisions under the new IRR.

Among the significant provisions under the new IRR include:

 CPD is still a mandatory requirement for the renewal of the PRC ID of all
registered and licensed professionals.
  Significant decrease in the number of required CPD units for the renewal
of professional license. From 45 units, it’s now down to 15 units every
three years.
 In-house trainings and capacity-building activities of government agencies
and corporations, including local government units and private employers
shall be credited and considered as CPD compliance.
 A transition period will be implemented while the PRC is working with CPD
councils to fulfill the “pre-conditions” required from them.
