1. Mark Suarez is a gun collector. He was collecting firearms and ammunition


without Possession License and with no firearms training and safety course. He
was caught and brought to trial but was denied a Lawyer and that he alone can
defend himself inside the court.
Is there a violation of Mark’s rights in here as the accused? Why or why not?

2. Primitivo Inocencio was charged with Murder and the court denied him Bail. The
murder weapon was found in his home. Blood and DNA of the victim was found
in his clothes. Three witnesses saw him killing the victim and was willing to testify
on court.
Was the decision of the court to deny bail constitutional? Why or why not?

3. Former Makati Mayor Junjun Binay was charged with Graft, malversation, and
falsification of public documents for the alleged overpriced construction of the
P2.2 billion Makati City Hall parking building. He was tried in the Regional Trial
Court.
Was the case of Junjun Binay tried on the proper court? Why or why not?

4. Melissa Angeles was caught shoplifting milk and diaper. She claimed she had
no money to buy it and that her baby desperately needs it. The owner of the
store sympathizes with Melissa and decided to not file any complaint.
However, despite no complain, the police still decided to put Melissa in prison.
Was the action by the police officers considered constitutional? Why or why
not?

5. Joven Espiritu was found guilty of slander in the Municipal Trial Court. He did
not loose hope because he believed he was innocent and therefore filed an
appeal in the Court of Appeals. He was found guilty and wanted to appeal
again but his lawyer told him that the decision of the Court of Appeals was final
and irrevocable.
Was Joven’s lawyer telling the truth? Why or why not?
