1. Compare and contrast the right and left kidneys (10 pts)

-The left kidney is usually positioned slightly higher than the right. The position and size of the left and right
kidneys are the most significant differences. The left kidney is slightly bigger and sits higher in the pelvis
than the right. The left kidney is slightly higher in position, larger in size, and blood is served by the left
renal artery, whereas the right kidney is slightly lower in position, smaller in size, and blood is served by the
right renal artery.

2. Explain what happens to Na+ concentration in the nephron when GFR increases. (20 pts)

-More plasma is filtered as a result of the vasodilation, which raises the glomerular filtration rate (GFR) and
gives the tubule less time for NaCl reabsorption, resulting in more NaCl in the filtrate.
