P: hello Luis
L: Hi Pedro, how are you?
P: All good and how have you been?
L: Very well, thank you, you know, in August the World Athletics Championships
were held in Eugene (United States). Which of the Peruvian athletes do you
admire?
P: Of course, the athlete I admire is Kimberly Garcia, she is a very disciplined
and prepared athlete
L: Tell me a little more about her.
P: her name is Gabriela Kimberly García León (Huancayo, October 19, 1993) is a
two-time world champion Peruvian athlete, who performs in the race walk test,
grew up in a very humble family, always linked to athletics.
L: wonderful, I also admire kimberly García, did you know that despite her young
age she made the decision to practice race walking and little by little train at a
competitive level, in 2013, she ranked 32nd in the world athletics championship
in Moscow where he participated in the 20 km race walk. Later, in 2014 he
managed to win first place in the South American
P: Excellent, what I was going to tell you is that Kimberly García in April 2019,
Kimberly managed to qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, after achieving
the required mark in the Walking Pan American Cup in Mexico. Likewise, in
August he managed to hang the silver medal at the Lima 2019 Pan American
Games.

Lima, where she set the third best mark in the world in the 10,000 meters

Championship in Athletics?
P: On July 23, she obtains the gold medal in the 35-Km walk (Second personal
gold) in the World Championship, thus becoming the only Latin American to win 2
gold medals in the same athletics world championship, the first two-time
champion in the region.

national pride
