Egan Arley Bernal Gómez was born (Bogotá, January
13, 19971) is a Colombian road cyclist. Raised and
trained as a cyclist in the municipality of Zipaquirá, he
is the youngest cyclist to win a Tour since 1909, that is,
110 years ago.

Egan Bernal is the Colombian cyclist

with the most important sporting
achievement in the history of the
country: he won the Tour de France
title in 2019, and he did it at only 22
years old and in his first steps in
elite cycling.

In 2013 he won the Pan American Junior

MTB Championship (Tucumán, Argentina)
and the Latin American MTB
Championship (cadets category). In 2014
he took the silver medal at the World
Mountain Bike Championship (junior
category), held in Norway, and the bronze
medal at the Pan American MTB
Championship in Brazil (junior category). In
2015 he was third in the World Mountain
Bike Championships (junior category) and
won the World Junior Series.

Egan Bernal is my favorite athlete because he is a

great athlete and when I see the tours in which
he competes he has an excellent record. At his
young age he is very humble and very
disciplined, thanks to this he has been able to win
different cycling competitions with a lot of effort,
he also managed to secure first place in the Tour
de France and became the first Latin American to
win the most important cycling competition.
