Foreword

This user’s manual contains information necessary for the proper use of the application program based
on the Windows XP Embedded operating system. Operators of this application should first read and
understand this manual. In addition, this manual will be needed for questions which may arise regarding
operation of the application, so should be kept close at hand.

_Caution_
 Descriptions in this manual include options which may differ from the specifications for your vessel.
 The illustrations and photographs used in this manual may differ from the actual product.
 Every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of this manual, however, if inaccuracies are found,
we ask you please inform us.
 Mishandling of the equipment may cause damage.
Please be aware that in such instances repair charges will be applied even during the warranty period.

Handling Instructions

In this manual, the following definitions are used for “Warning” and “Caution”. The information in the
below table is important for the prevention of physical injury and property damage. Be sure to carefully
read and understand each item.

Caution
This application is protected against alteration or being overwritten by the
write-protection function in the Windows XP Embedded OS. The application will revert to
the factory settings when the PC is restarted.
When restarted, it will be necessary to enter settings.

Preface

1. Dimmer
This application contains a function to dim the brightness of the screen.
Previously, adjustments were made to the display backlight, however, this function allows the entire
screen to darken.

2. Terms & Abbreviations


The following terms and abbreviations are used throughout this manual.

OS Windows Operating System
PC Personal Computer
Task Bar Area which shows fixed application icons in Windows.
Key showing the Windows logo on keyboards designed for use with
Windows OS.
Windows Key Keyboards will generally have two Windows Keys. This manual will
differentiate between them by using “Left Windows Key” and “Right
Windows Key”.

3. Click
“Click” is used throughout this manual to mean clicking the left button of the mouse, or tapping on the
LCD touch screen.
If the button configurations have been changed in mouse properties, the left and right button
functions of the mouse will be reversed.

Application User’s License

This application is provided by Musasino to the vessel owner (hereinafter called the User) for use under
the conditions listed below.

1. User’s License
This application may be installed and operated on one (1) computer.

2. Installation
This application is to be used only on the computer provided by or approved for installation of the
application by Musasino.

3. Reproduction of the Application


No reproduction of this application may be made by the User except to save the application on the
computer for use and as a backup.

4. Alteration of the Application


Users are prohibited from altering, reverse-engineering, reverse-compiling, or reverse-assembling this
software for any reason.

5. Specifications
Specifications of the application cannot be changed after delivery.
 The application will be created based on functions selected in discussions between Musasino, the
Vessel Owner and the Shipbuilder.

6. Transfer or Loan
The User may not transfer (through sale, gift, or exchange, etc.) or loan this software to any third party
without consent from Musasino. In addition, any act of rental, lease or trade as used software is
prohibited.

7. License Period
This license is effective for the period beginning the first day the application is used by the User and
terminates following the end of use. In addition, if the User violates any of the terms of this contract,
the User’s license may be terminated and all rights to use of the application revoked.

8. Responsibility Following License Termination


Upon termination of this license, the User shall be obligated to render this application unusable by a
third party, as well as dispose of any copies and reference materials related to this application.

9. Musasino’s Responsibility
Musasino shall bear no responsibility for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage to data,

Step1:Startup
This application is fixed and will startup automatically with Windows. While the application is running, an
icon will be displayed in the Windows task bar.

Step2:Operation
It is possible to use both the keyboard and mouse (icons and menus) when using this application.
When performing the following operations, you will see changes in the screens.

Caution
This application is protected against alteration or being overwritten by the
write-protection function in the Windows XP Embedded OS. The application will revert to
the factory settings when the PC is restarted.

Case1 Using the Keyboard


_Caution_
When using an LCD touch screen, perform operations using the screen keyboard.
Double-click on the desktop shortcut (icon) for On-Screen Keyboard.

3 Ctrl + Alt + Pause availability

Point
 For 1 and 2 above, pressing the Left Windows Key and the arrow (up or down arrow) continuously will
darken or lighten the screen by steps.
 This function works only with the Windows key on the left.
No changes will be seen using the Right Windows Key.

Case2 Using the Icon


Use the icon in the task bar.

_Caution_
Check that the application function is available, and open the Settings Window.

Designates color for all of the screen.
1 Cl. _Caution_
The default color is black when shipped from the factory.
 Shows strength of the colors on the screen.
 The further right the handle is placed, the stronger the color will be.

2 Thick.
When Case1 Using the Keyboard (page 2) the handle will move left
or right with the change in the brightness from pressing the
Windows Key and the arrow keys.
3 OK Applies the current settings and closes the window.
4 Cancel Closes the window without applying the current settings.

Step3:Shutdown
As described in Step1:Startup, this application is fixed within the Windows OS. When Windows is started
the application will automatically start. When Windows is shut down, the application is also automatically
shut down.

Case1 Shutting Down only the Application


Right click on the icon in the task bar and click on Exit in the menu.

Case2 Restarting the Application


Open the Start Menu, click on All ProgramsStartupShortcut to Dimmer to start the application.

The icon will appear in the task bar.

_Caution_
This application cannot be started when already running. If
attempting to start while running, the message at right will
appear.
