Hi, I’m Elise and I care about my home. I care about my family. I care about my
Earth. I think I might be one of the few people that do. I think its human nature
to carelessly take everything for granted. To be blind to the most vital, most
critical, most essential components of our lives. We take and take and take,
forgetting that every breath we breathe is a gift and could be revoked in an
instant. We are privileged and dense ; we refuse to acknowledge the suffering of
others because it’s an inconvenience in our insignificant lives. Do you think the
world cares about the brand of your coat or the make of your phone. No. No one
cares. The world doesn’t revolve around every picture you post or video you
like. It cares about what you give back, what you give in return of the gift of
life. It is our responsibility to be conscious, considerate and caring. To fight for
our world because no one else will.
Did you know that roughly 6,800 natural disasters take place every year. This
figure is preposterous, we need to take care of our planet and stop these
meaningless deaths. Countries are in financial ruin after natural disasters. These
events are in an infinite cycle of viciousness and ruination. We need to be the
glue holding our world together. We need to collect these fractured pieces and
assemble them. We need to take care of our home because without it we will be
in grave peril and there will be no hope for humanity. Will you stand idly
waiting for our ruination or be the change that will save us all?
