Lives with her absent minded and anxious 26-year-old sister.

Mother abandoned them when she was 5 and her father a former hunter died when she was 13.
Her sister, Jess, returned from the outside world with a string of personality disorders as well as
a suitcase filled with negative comments about life outside of their town.

She is very close to many elderlies due to working as a delivery girl for her sister’s flower shop and
is close to lots of men and women because of her late father’s profession.

Feels responsible for her sister who often forgets to take the medication that manage her
anxiety
Background After her mother abandoned them (father, sister, and her) they lived homely
and happy because her parent was very social and made life lively, but after the
hunting accident where her father went missing (presumably killed by wolves),
friends from her father took them in for a year (14y) until she and her sister
rented a small room together. Soon after Jess got a boyfriend who had traveled
before and together left for the big city, leaving Mellissa behind. She felt
abandoned and took refuge in getting learning about flowers and plants, which
her father had taught her and her sister. Also during that time she started seeing
Keegan, with whom she has an intermittent relationship and not the best one.
One year later Jess returned bitter and with an anxiety disorder from her
terrible experience while being outside town. She did manage to save some
cash from indie modeling gigs and together with Mellissa opened a small flower
shop, that thanks their father’s past connections, has now some regular
customers, mainly from elderly people.
Jess is a bit unreliable, but carries herself with confidence, which is very useful
to customer and supplier relationships. She has the charisma of their father.
Being unreliable though, means that Mellissa has look out for her sister, that
she takes her pills, and be there for her when she gets panic attacks. This comes
burden her as she has no way of dealing with her own abandonment issues.
Skills Knows a lot about plants, including some medicinal ones, but also their
significance and meaning.
Paints relatively well.
Handles tools quite well, mainly gardening tools, but also odd jobs tools (e.g.,
hammer, screwdriver, drill).
Relationships Family: Mother abandoned them when she was 5, father dead 4y ago, sister
returned from bad solo experience with anxiety disorder.
Acquaintances: Lonna, Robben. These are the only people she can call friends,
and is specially attached to them emotionally at least.
Community: Close to many people due to her huntsman late father, and to
many elder people due to being a delivery gurl.
Job: Part-timer delivery in her sister’s flower shop.
Personality Signs of developing borderline personality disorder. With her friends she can act
close and friendly, but other times she can also blame them for innocent
behaviors that she feels are attempts to leave her out of things.
This issue extends to her relationships, by having intense ones, particularly with
Keegan, who she rebounds with in moments of depression or emotional
instability. Their relationship is emotionally charged, filled with arguments, and
in general a bit toxic. She goes back to him because she cant stand being alone,
as she feels she has been abandoned, but her social paranoia creates this
dilemma, in which she cant be alone but at the same time she can feel that
everyone is about to abandon her.
Traits Physical: Slender figure, blonde with a tone of ginger, pale skin a bit tanned from
working outside with plants. 1.62m, hair just a bit beyond her shoulders that
uses covering the sides of her face, except when she works with flowers and
plants where she wears it in a ponytail.
Likes: Flores and plants, abstract painting, lofi music, collecting used brushes
(early memory from her mother: painting).
Dislikes: Her friends hanging out with other people, meeting new people when
she is with friends, being left alone, cold showers, the smell of new clothes.
Internal conflicts: Doesn’t want to leave her 26yo anxious-ridden sister which
conflicts with her wanting to leave town; part of it is that she feel responsible
for her, and that she’s scared of taking that step of independence. This may be
really and excuse, not even she is sure, but she also fears adventuring alone,
leaving everything behind and change her world for a new one. She feels
suffocated by life in town, but at the same time she can’t imagine herself being
anywhere else.
Goals Be a botilis, or if that fails, a botanist, because she views plants as predictable,
they don’t let her down as much as people, and their behavior depends
completely on Mellissa’s care, which gives her confidence and calms her.
Find her mother so she can know why she abandoned her family, why she
abandoned her. Not knowing if she didn’t loved them, or that they weren’t good
enough, or any other reason eats at her as time goes by.
