Special Interest Group: Harnessing Big Data
Harnessing the power of data and analytics

Supporting hospital leaders to tackle inequity in healthcare is important for the IHF. In partnership with
its sponsor Vizient, the IHF Harnessing Big Data SIG’s global steering committee drives knowledge-
sharing activities focusing on how healthcare providers can use big data and analytics to improve the
performance of healthcare systems as well as to tackle health inequity.

— In 2022 these activities included a webinar on cyber security and a session at the 45th WHC.

— In 2023 the group will be working together to document best practices of using big data to address
health inequity, and launch a podcast based on these, culminating in a session at the 46th WHC to
share its findings.
Special Interest Group: Telehealth
Navigating the future of virtual care in hospitals

Telehealth has a vital role to play in supporting hospitals and healthcare systems to be more sustainable
and equitable. In partnership with its sponsor Teladoc Health, the Telehealth SIG global steering
committee focuses on knowledge-sharing around the role of telehealth in creating sustainable hospitals
with equitable access to care.

— In 2022 it focused its activities on how to design and implement sustainable and successful
telehealth programmes through a series of webinars and a session at the 45th WHC.

— In 2023, the group will be working to identify examples of how IHF members from around the world
have used telehealth to try to tackle health inequalities, and will be sharing these through a podcast
and WHC session.
