1. List 3 to 5 items that you think will be the most rewarding aspects of being a radiologic
technologist in order of importance.

1. The different modalities that are in radiology such as nuclear medicine, radiation therapy,
MRI, interventional radiology, and CT.
2. The fascination of radiology by using cutting edge equipment to help providers diagnosis
and treat patients.

3. What does our patient need/expect from us? List at least 5 things.

Expertise, empathy, compassion, to feel safe or trust and respect.

4. Are patient interactions limited to the patient? Who else might we interact and how do those
interactions differ from direct interactions with the patient?

No, they are not limited. We may interact with the patient’s family or friends. Interactions with
family and friends are the same as with the patient which is to speak to them respectfully and in
a friendly manner.

5. Identify ways you communicate with others on a daily basis. Rank them in order of most to
least.
6. How do we communicate with our patients?

By verbal and nonverbal communication.

7. How do you effectively communicate with any type of patient, no matter the patient’s condition
or age? List the various patient types/conditions that you might interact. Under each of those,
discuss a strategic approach to effectively communicate with that patient.
