Important notes for getting the most out of our form: Our 12V control panels include
a double USB, 6 switches and 12V sockets. So unless you'd like extras, you don't need
to place USB, 12V or LS next to the control panel.
Dimmer switches (DS) have their own built in ON/OFF switch, so don't need to be
paired with a light switch LS.

Daily power requirements

Will you be using solar panels to help charge your

battery? No

If yes, what wattage will your panels be? 100

Will you be using your van off grid in winter? No

Estimated solar yield per day on average 0

This yield is based on average data for rigid solar panel outputs
using an MPPT charge controller, for the 6 months March-
September when not in winter mode, November-January when in
winter mode. Both figures allow for 20% of the day spent in shaded
areas.

What the calcualtor does
In order to use the calculator, we would like to gain an idea of what
you would be running in the vehicle on a typical day and for how
long.
From this, the calcualor will give you your daily power demand.

Then it takes into account anything that may be charging your

battery, such as the solar panels, or alternator via a split charger or
battery to battery charger.
The final section is the battery recommendations section.
This gives you the total power you will need based on the number of
days you've indicated that you would like to be off grid.

How to fill the calculator in

The only spaces you can click in are the ones you need to edit. These
have a bold black outline. When you click in each space, it should
display a message telling you what that space requires.
Some spaces have a drop down menu, indicated by the little arrow
on the right hand side. Select this and choose the option that's
relevant to your conversion.
Anything you don't wish to include simply leave blank.

Notes

This calculator has some assumptions built in as there are a lot of

variables which can vary a batteries power, this includes but is not
limited to:
A stable mid range temperature
Components being used reasonably
The fridge not being opened all of the time
Solar yields are for the UK centered on London, further north will
yield lower averages.
Solar yields are for rigid panels using MPPT controllers in full sun
for most of the day
