a. Identify the different kinds of implements, equipment, and cosmetics in manicuring;
b. Value the importance of knowing the use and availability of the implements, equipment, and
cosmetics to facilitate manicuring; and
c. Perform a tasks on how to use the implements, equipment and cosmetics in manicuring.
II. Subject Matter:
Content: : Implements, equipment and cosmetics in Manicuring
Content standard: The learner demonstrates understanding in the use of implements,
equipment, and cosmetics in manicuring.
Performance standard: The learner independently uses of implements, equipment and
cosmetics in manicuring.
Materials: Tools in manicure, charts, graphic organizers, pictures, beauty box, power
point presentation, and laptop.

A. Review
Now, before we start our new lesson, let us have a Ma’am, our topic last meeting is all
recap of our previous discussion. Who among you can about the nail physical structure and
recall our topic last meeting? problems.

Now, give me the different parts of the nail? Ma’am, the different parts of the nail
are the matrix, the nail root, the nail
plate, the nail bed, the free edge, the
lunula, the cuticle, and the
eponychium.
Precisely! I think all of you, know the previous
discussion. So, now let us move to our new lesson.
B. Motivation
I will play a video presentation that is related in our
topic for today. You are free to take down important
details while you are watching the video because I will
ask you some questions later. Is that clear? Yes, Ma’am.

Since you have learned, I am supposing that you will


answer my questions regarding in the video. Some of

stickers under your chairs. When I call your name,
kindly pick the sticker under your chair. If you got the
SMILEY sticker, you are lucky to call a friend who will
save you to answer the question. Once you got the
sticker, you should answer the question. Remember,
you only need to get and look for the sticker if your

1. Activity
This time, we will have an activity for you to identify on
the different things that are used in Manicuring. I will
group you according to your seats. I will show you 20
words that are related in the video. In Answer Wall,
each Group will write those words in a Graphic
Organizers (according to the classification). Are you
ready? We are ready!

2. Analysis
All of what you have learned in the video presentation
and the activity that you did before has a connection Ma’am, our topic for today is all about
on our new lesson. Who among you has an idea on our the Implements, equipments,

Exactly! Now, let us study the classification of different
tools in manicure. What is the three classification of The classification of tools in manicure

Exactly! Tools in manicure have a classification
according to their uses. They are not just tools
otherwise, they are classified as Implements,
Equipment, and Cosmetics.

items which are more or less durable
and permanent needed for a particular
activity or purposes.

Cosmetics, they are supplies that gives
beauty, prettiness and splendor to the
manicure.
Excellent! Now, let us proceed to discuss each of them.
I will show you first some implements and after that,
you must guess the name. If you want to answer, just
raise your hand. Once you answered in chorus, I will
not considered your answer. Are you ready? We are ready!

1. Emery board or nail file- An emery board or nail file
is used to shape and smoothen the free edge of the

nails.
2. Metal pusher and nail cutter- A metal pusher is used
to push back or loosen dead cuticle while nail cutter or
nail clipper is used to cut or shorten fingernails and
toenails.

3. Orange wood stick- Orange wood stick is used to


loosen cuticle, clean underneath the nails, and remove
the polish around the cuticle nails.

4. Cuticle nipper and nail brush- Cuticle nipper is used


to trim hang nails and dead cuticle while the nail brush
is a small plastic brush used to clean nails and fingers.
1. Abstraction
Now, we will have a game. I prepared a Beauty box
and music. When I play the music, you need to shout
first the phrase “IPASA MO ANG BEAUTY KO” before
you pass the beauty box to your seatmate. If the music
stopped, the one who hold the Beauty box will get a
question inside. After you get it, kindly give the
question to me because I am the one who will read the
question for you. Is that clear? Yes Ma’am.
